So many drone systems. Proliferation of drones is scary. Forget defence. It’s a threat to personal safety in the future. In India, murderers don’t even have guns. So they chase you to hack you to death most of the time. You have an equal chance to escape.

With drones, develop an bomb pocket, and deliver it to the unsuspecting target. Might be looking far fetched. But I expect an drone kill on an civilian in this decade.

Rudram 3 looks too heavy to be carried even by Sukhois. Guess it needs an Bomber….
Both Rudram-II (350km) & III (650km) are anti-radiation missiles and similar in size to the air launched version of Brahmos. Su-30MKI should be able to carry it

In a significant development, the Indian Air Force and state-owned aircraft maker Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on Thursday inked a pact to procure 70 India-made HTT-40 trainer aircraft worth Rs 6,800 crore.

The deal was signed a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Hindustan Turbo Trainer-40 during the 12th edition of DefExpo, which is underway at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

An official told Asianet News that HAL would start delivering the trainer jets three years from the date of the deal signing. The new trainer aircraft would be fitted with a Turbo(prop) engine, which will be acquired from the US-based Honeywell Aerospace, which has over 60 per cent of indigenous content.

At Gandhinagar, 451 agreements and product launches took place during the Bandhan ceremony held on Thursday. Of these, there were 345 Memorandums of Understanding, 42 major announcements, 46 product launches and 18 Transfers of Technologies. It envisages investment worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore.

Additional immediate orders for 37 expected. Overall numbers expected to be 170+ slowly over this decade and the next.

Slowly and steadily getting there.
