DIMDEX 2022: Roketsan displays Atmaca anti-ship missile​

The ATMACA is an all-weather, long-range, precision strike, anti-ship cruise missile, developed and produced by the defense company Roketsan. The missile can be integrated on frigates or corvettes.


The development of the Atmaca anti-ship missile began in 2009 and a contract was signed between SSB (Turkish defense association) and the Turkish missile manufacturer Roketsan in 2018 to start the mass production.


The first test launch of the Atmaca missile was conducted in November 2019 from the Ada-class corvette TCG Kınalıada in the Black sea followed by the certification test in June 2021.


The ATMACA missile has a length of 4.8m and a weight of 800 km. The guidance system of the missile consists of a global positioning system (GPS), inertial navigation system, barometric altimeter, and radar altimeter to navigate towards its target. The missile has a High Explosive warhead of 250 kg with penetration capability and has a maximum firing range of 200 km.
