Well, TB2s are selling like dirt. Every other day we are hearing countries are either ordering Turkish defense products or asking for info. So pls explain how in the earth we are producing a TB2 for 1-1,5 million $ and Atmaca a cutting edge anti-ship missile for 500k $.
How??
We would produce it with the cost of almost same amount of money except manpower cost. How it would increase their value?? 10-20 percent maximum in the serial production variants .
But your gdp would be more than 1 trillion usd and your defense budget would be at least 30-40 percent more in terms of usd!!
So which one is good?? You can calculate it?? Even it would increase just 20 percent , still would buy more equipment. But it would be at least 30-40 percent more in terms of usd when you had an economy of 1 trillion usd .
How could you have a 1 trillion economy?? Easy answer,
Not 1-1 related but it is in positive relation with 1-0,4 and 1-0,6 compared the economy size. Witha usd is 5 tl , you would have around 1-1,1 trillion usd in stead of 730 billion usd.

Compare the defense spending change when same percentage are assigned to defense!!

Lol, it is not just related to the price of manpower. This is how we produce them cheaply. All those little subsystems are magnitudes cheaper compared to their foreign counterparts and paid in Turkish liras.

Lol? You understand nothing right ?? from the things that I said. I tell you again ,this time in opposite way. Let's say Turkish lira devalued ,this time 100 present and go bottom to 1/19 . You think that the products you produce will be 50 percent cheaper?? Of course not!! It would be cheaper at most 20 or 30 percent at most interns of usd!!
So with that much decrease what will be our gdp and hence defense spendings??

Our gdp will be around 500 billion usd . Defense spending will decrease in the ratio of (1- (500/720 ))*100 around 31,32 percent!!
You get nothing but lose in terms of equipment number . This numbers are true if everything is produced here with 100 percent local materials!! When you add that your local percentage in your every product is 80-90 percent average and your locality ratio is 75 percent, you get 60 -67,5 percent locality. And when you calculate with this numbers , your lost will be more!!
So stop trying to lecture without having a clue!!

What thoughts? Erdo has a plan. Lower the value of TL and cut the interest rates so borrowing TL will become easier. Hopefully, this will increase exports and lower imports as local producers will look to use local components in their products(Rather than buying radar altimeter from Canada, Roketsan will buy it from Meteksan) as those will be priced really competitive. This means small to medium-sized companies will flourish. If successful rather than driving the economy with local consumption, the economy will be driven by exports. Tosyalı will sell its steel dirt cheap will even be competitive with China. It is an extremely risky plan and not guaranteed to succeed. Even if somehow he succeeds average citizens will pay the price for it and be sentenced to African level of poverty for the foreseeable future before TR becomes a powerhouse exporter country. And if he fails we will be left alone with the ruins of a broken economy.
This is only possible if you have China's levels of human capital and authoritarian lack of regard for human rights.

There is no actual way that Turkey, a country lacking many of the advantages that China possesses and also plagued with many issues that China doesn't have to deal with, can pull this off. This will crash the Turkish economy, 100%. Only a true optimist could actually believe this could work, especially since Turkey is never gonna be able to outcompete others in a race to produce tons of cheap goods very quickly. Turkey's approach should have been to improve the quality level of goods being produced in the country across the board. The current approach is guaranteed to fail and won't sentence Turkish people to African levels of poverty before the flood of wealth comes, it will just sentence them to African levels of poverty, period.

FATF like many international bodies are just places where geo-political games are played out. Despite US support for YPG has there ever been any sanction or even talk of sanction against USA?

Indeed man 100% agree lets not forget the myth of "international law".

Its a jungle out there everybody is out there for their piece.

That means the President has no idea what he is doing. He is fighting the windmills to avoid the growth crisis in emerginging markets by interest rate cuts.

Why doesnt erdogan just let the economic guys do their job?

Why does he feel the need to control everything?

You know why. The same reason everyone has left him and he is left with Imam Hatip graduates aged 24 who are more worried about snorting coke in their cars and posting pictures on Instagram with the money they took from the Turkish people.

Soon Turkish export will crash the high USD wall when it needs raw materials and energy.

İnflation, İnflation, İnflation.
Dolarization!

I didn't even mention the biggest problem , The poorer Turkish labours.

Noone cares about Turkish citizens whose incomes in Turkish Lira.
For 20 years we have been listening dıj güçler.
For Gods sake at least once admit your responsibility.

Without SWAPs with Qatar, China and Korea net reserves minus 30billion USD.
So Turkish Central Bank keeps foreign currency reserve which belongs to another countries.

What Iam truly wondering about is whether Erdo will actually succeed in forcing the supply chains to use domestic products in such a small time frame

Do you have import breakdown data of Turkey ? Then if you have it you can see whether your import in majority is raw material or consumption goods. The decrease of Lira also means businesses will pay more for raw material ( for businesses targeting domestic market) that in the end it can lower their production,

This is the cart for Indonesia

--------------------------------------------------------------

Blue Line is Raw Material/Supporting Goods (which is essential for manufacturing industry)

Black Line is capital Goods which is also essential for manufacturing

Red Line is consumer goods

Consumer goods imports is less than 10 percent of Indonesian total imports.

THey want to influence 2023 election...
not really, this organization is formed as watch guard for muslim world particulary which is not aligned with west, it is comical how UAE or GB or some other God's forsaken islands countries in oceans are not on "lists" which are really money laundering machines.
Turkey should leave FATF completely.
