I would look for a national solution. Only acceptable for stop gap. They could probably make it if they started early enough. If only were we sanctioned for this HUD.

It is not nice to read that “we are manufacturing under license”. But you have to start somewhere! BAE are partners at the moment. So the idea should be, to get as much as possible while you can. Also these sort of “under license” manufacturing processes keeps one foot in with the top technology companies. We can not spend on R&D as much as they are. In a way, it is free R&D!

Your wish is granted, all products for Hurjet and TF-X are now sanctioned. They now cost twice the price and will come 10 years delayed.

Step by step.

Mr Kotil stated that Small supersonic drone will make its maiden flight in next months. In addition, Simsek is not only a target drone but also a decoy drone mimicking fighter aircrafts and a bomb (kamikaze) as well.

Around 52:43

> Temel Kotil talks about Hürjet C and he mentions that it has a payload capacity for ammunition of more than 5 Tons.

> Officially Hürjet has a payload capacity of 2.7 Tons

Nice catch!

The 2.7tons was the minimum requirement design specification, now the design (PDR) of Hurjet has finished and the design with simulation verified (CDR) one can tell with more sureness what the real payload capacity is. I think Temel Kotil is now possibly speaking out the value after CDR verification.

There's also the possibility that maybe he mixed up including wet payload, fuel, hydraulics, oil into that summation. Bomb capacity of T-50 Golden Eagle is around 4tons, with fuel weight of around 2tons..

Excellent find nonetheless, looking forward to TAI releasing some actual figures from the test flights.

They've been bumping us around with the Mach numbers too much aswell, lol.. 1.1mach, 1.3mach, 1.4mach.. Waiting on an official to say 1.2mach and we got all the Machs

Without engine like f414 that bird will never be a light attack or CAS plane. F404 is good for shows and training. But not for a fighter jet. To increase the payload to that level you need a powerful engine and a structurally matching plane. As A C-Block Hurjet, they may have a very different configuration of both engine and plane. Even then, that 5 ton figure may include fuel.

Actually it is Volvo RM12 engine developed from F404 GE engine.
GEf404 has a a dry thrust of 11000lbf. (17700lbf WAB)
Volvo RM12 has a dry thrust of 12000lbf. (18100lbf WAB)
It is nearly 10% more powerful.
In Hurjet’s site the engine power is given as 19200 lbf. Yet the most powerful F404 is IN20 specially developed for Indian airforce, and has a WAB thrust of 19000lbf.

Mr Kotil: Retired Head engineer of Eurofighter program came to Tusaş for Hürjet.
Kind of think it is more valuable then hundreds of milions dollars pured into the projects if consider what one man is capable to do from whole Bayractar endevaour.

How to export them without engine? Did Canada not put a total embargo?
