He should have made clear that no foreigner can intervene in Turkeys internal security policies or judiciary but in a normal manner the way he talked here is not how President should talk to the public, this actually is the business of the foreign ministery but they are just a facade.

Why picking fights? His loose tongue and Kabadayi attidute cost Turkey a lot in the past.

The way I see it the current state of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a joke. The role of the FM is almost taken by the MoD Hulusi Akar nowadays and this only shows how much Turkey sucks in diplomacy.

Holy shit what a joke, Erdogan picking fights when Turkey cannot afford to pick fights, specially with literally its biggest economic partners, even countries such as UK which was working towards greater economic and military relations with Turkey since Brexit, but Erdogan is gonna throw it all away due to his emotional foreign policy.
"UK which was working towards greater economic and military relations"!!!
There are no such thing. Everybody looking for OWN befits.
Turkiye is not the same Turkiye-> mean-> Turkiye looking for OWN befits too.
There is no more Pleasing foreigners. If you ppl Dont understand that then no more to say.
There are RED LINES. How many times Turkiye officials will have to SAID it to foreigners.
Turkish interior things is and will be only Turkiye decisions.

Foreigners know the rules. Now they DID cross the RED LINE -> and for this there are Consequences

Stop been Naive and react that Foreigners are good. They are NOT they only act for OWN befits

Talking like that and threaten to kick out ambassadors is just a really weak response, he makes a big deal out of something really unnecessary like Kavala. And western media is presenting it nicely to the public. A calm well thought response wouldn't give them as much as headline discussion topic as he does always.

Just look how Aliyev dealt with foreign media during the Karabakh War, where Azerbaijan whooped the wests favourite victim Armenia.

Erdogan needs every bit of drama and distraction he can get, and the west is giving him again and again what he wants.

According to the Vienna convention kicking out those bunch of clowns is the right move but it is not the logical move. Now Erdo has tied himself by pronouncing persona non grata and he has no alternative to kick those pricks out. If he doesn't do that people on the street will see him as a clown after pastor Brunson and Deniz Yücel incidents. What he should have done is gather the ambassadors and give them a written diplomatic note (probably in a very inappropriate place) that says do not interfere with the internal affairs of Türkiye you are hereby warned and if you do that again you will be declared as persona non grata.

This is not a coincidence that suddenly 10 ambassadors come together and publish a declaration like this before the Erdo-Biden talks, a possible F-16 deal, and a likely Turkish operation in northern Syria. This is clearly orchestrated by the secretary of foreign affairs Blinken while the new US ambassador of Türkiye is absent and the old one completed his term. It was a well-calculated move aimed to create another problem between TR and the US other than the S-400 deal. S-400 problem is over. We bought S-400, the US kicked us from the program. Another problem is needed to stop the upgrade/delivery of F-16s in the congress and to take action against a likely Turkish operation against YPG/PKK. Erdo fell right into the trap. A very novice move from an experienced politician.

Imagine how many ambassadors from Turkey would have been kicked out by now if other states displayed the same aptitude for diplomacy, there is no class whatsoever. They act like poor people who recently became very rich.

Honestly Erdogan is not doing the right thing but sometimes you got to stand up to bullies who interfere with your internal issues.

imagine that Turkey diplomats make joint statement with some other countries about prompt release of Julian Asange or complaining about domestic jurisprudence all the time for example?

Thats whats gets me to be honest. We dont do it we stay silent.

They recognise the Armenian genocide while us Turks can easily reply back by showing the genocides and massacres that they committed.

But Erdogan does none of it instead prefers to rant.

Telling a country to follow their domestic and international laws isn't really interfering, a joint statement against Mr Saudi Arabia who cut a human into pieces in Turkey, or expulsion of their ambassador would have been nice. Or maybe a joint Turkic statement on China

And for reference, joint statements are common.

US says it abides by Article 41 of Vienna Convention amid Kavala row

The United States on Monday said that it respects the laws and regulations of Turkey, after tensions heightened about a statement urging the release of Osman Kavala by 10 foreign ambassadors.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday announced he had instructed Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to declare the 10 ambassadors as persona non grata.

However, the U.S. Embassy in Turkey stated that: “In response to questions regarding the Statement of October 18, the United States notes that it maintains compliance with Article 41 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic relations.”

Article 41 encompasses respecting the laws and regulations of the receiving state and stipulates that the internal affairs of said state should not be interfered with.

Canada, Netherlands and New Zealand each sent a similar message, while Norway and Finland re-tweeted the U.S. message.

Presidential sources stated that the statements of the embassies were welcomed by Erdoğan.

Declaring a diplomat as persona non grata usually means that the individual is banned from remaining in their host country.

Kavala, a Turkish businessperson, has been imprisoned for four years now over his alleged role in the 2013 Gezi Park protests and subsequent riots.

Last week, the embassies of the United States, Canada, France, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden called for Kavala's release in a joint statement.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassadors of these countries, accusing them of meddling in the Turkish judiciary.

In a statement, the ministry said that "a group of ambassadors in Ankara, who issued a joint statement last night, contrary to diplomatic practices, regarding an ongoing case in our country, were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning."

"It has been conveyed that this limitless statement regarding a legal process carried out by the independent judiciary is unacceptable, this statement that attempts to politicize the legal processes and put pressure on the Turkish judiciary is rejected, and that this statement is also contrary to the rule of law, democracy and independence of the judiciary that the ambassadors claim to defend," it said.

"As recorded in our constitution, it was emphasized that Turkey is a democratic state of law that respects human rights, and it was reminded that the Turkish judiciary would not be affected by such irresponsible statements," it added.

We literally had the Saudis kidnap and kill someone in their embassy in Istanbul and did not kick out their ambassador.

The Turkish is slightly off but in English they said they are maintaining compliance, while in Turkish it says they will comply. Interpreted very differently by different people, pro-Erdoganists believe he won and the US is taking a step back, for example.
