Iran is more dangerous to Turkiey than Israel! I strongly disagree.
You're tell me that Iran is the one trying to destroy your economy and knocking down your democracy by military coups not mentioning the support of the kurds? Iran is doing all this right Not the Zionist lobby in Washington?
Actual issue stems from policy makers not being able to make balanced policies based realizing the fact that both Israel and Iran is our main regional competitors.
Iran opposed to Israel, creates far more threats in the field. Such as asymmetrical. Rocket attacks through their proxies. Including direct/indirect backing of PKK inside Iran, Iraq and Syria.
While the main issue with Israel is with U.S. as their middle east policy is centered on Israel.
YPG, Syrian wing of PKK, does/could be forced under Iranian influence as U.S. also lowers presence and unable to respond to Turkey. Especially Iran as Russia is dealing with Ukraine War. PKK in SInjar, Iraq is under Iranian proxy protection as example and it is a part of Iranian network all the way to Mediterranean Sea.
Increased PKK relations with Iran, could lower/end Israel backing of U.S. policy on northern Syria. Which is already not sustainable for US for the many stated reasons.
U.S. increasing presence in Syria means increasing presence in Iraq. To both, their public opinion is against. PKKistan is depended on logistical supply from Iraq and U.S. protection.
Turkey's good relations with Northern Iraq government plus the new energy politics. Need for alternative energy network from Russian gas for EU. Which Iran opposes to pipelines. Addition, only way of Israel exporting their gas to EU is through Cyprus than Turkey.
Basically, there is a lot more options currently against US-Israel + EU than Iran. Especially with the Ukraine conflict. Achievable with right diplomacy and military action. We are currently actively targeting high ranking PKK members in Syria and Iraq. Destabilizes and shifts opinion towards Iran, Russian protection.
Currently Iran is more dangerous with threats they could bring in the field. Including loitering munitions, UAVs and missiles. We currently lack anti ballistic and C-RAM systems to sustain such operations.
