Russia owns Akkuyu: https://tass.com/economy/1355809

Russian engineers will be the ones running the show: https://www.duvarenglish.com/only-r...ower-plant-in-turkey-says-engineer-news-59043

Akkuyu will not be priced in liras but in dollars for Rosatom to recoup the costs and as an example, Egypt's nuclear project with Russia will be charging far less than Turkey will be charged (link is Russian hackery but it does have good sources down the bottom): https://bellona.org/news/nuclear-is...-but-it-might-be-more-about-money-than-safety

If Europeans said that gravity exists, would you jump off a cliff? Besides, the article that was being cited did not mention Akkuyu. You just immediately came up with a list of scary things that the EU might do.
Let me burst your pro-U.S. propaganda there :

Yes at start plant will be operated Russians only for a certain period. If i remember it was 15 years for both Russian enginneers to leave control station Turkish students educated in Russia and for station earn its construction money.

Since like last 10 years Turkiye sending certain amount of students to Russia became nuclear engineers and those students gonna replace to Russians enginneers at Akkuyu after a certain point.

At the same electricty produced in the plant will be bought by Turkiye above its real value in this period Russians will earn money back(timeline given back was 15 years). Construction cost of this plant is rather massive and its covered completly by credit given Russian state bank , Turkiye did not contribute single lira.

While subject comes why Russia? Simple its exact reason "Why S-400/FD-2000?" : Because our NATO allies always prevented any nuclear technology development in Turkiye specially Unites States.Throughout cold war U.S. were planting nuclear plant to many of its close alllies(including Pakistan and Iran) to help their energy needs and transffered certain amount civillian nuclear technology.Everyone knows Turkiye economy's main weakness happens to be energy imports(also the reason our economy always gives trade deficit) forced to buy from other countries.U.S. itself criticized us many times for buying energy from Iran and Russia yet for some strange its never offered Turkiye option of "Lets build nuclear reactors in Turkiye so they can stop buying Russian/Iranian gas". When certain Turkish goverments requested this option while they did not deny it outright(of course) but created bunch of excuses again why it cant happen.

Did you know there were plans for two additional nuclear plants to construction(total 3) and second one supposed to constructed by Japan/French partnership.Yet after some time that offer completly disappear.(Possible U.S. pressure of Japan?)

This project one of most right decision Erdogan took , too bad other two projects couldnt succed for lack of willing partners. .

The most important Red Apple that Turkey MUST achieve:

A.- Nuclair tech (civil & militairy). With the A-bomb our neighbours will sing a lesser tone (Greece, Armenia, Egypt, Israel, Syria) and the US, EU and Russia cant press the chantage policy. Also, nuclear energy will replace a part of the expensive petrodollar that we buy every year.

B.- If you reach A, than you will demand a recognition of North Cyprus and you can demand to be a part of every forum that is created to share the East Med.

C.- You will be a guarantory part of the process in Libya, Nagorno Karabach and Syria because this time you are a nuclear power.

For me any Turkish nuclear program would probably have been conducted within Pakistan if it hasn't already.

No pro-U.S. propaganda here. It's straight from Turkish and Russian sources.

Oh, is it 15 now? It used to be 10. Which really just underlines my point that the Russians are never leaving. They do this stuff everywhere, set a supposed "time limit" and then that time limit magically disappears a few years or even months down the line. I can guarantee you that those Russian engineers are never leaving and those Turkish engineers won't be allowed to get close to anything important.

Turkish companies DID pledge to contribute. And all of them pulled out because they weren't happy with the deal with the Russians. You ever wonder why? IIRC the deal with Egypt is also funded pretty much entirely by Russia. Additionally, this just further underlines the point that Rosatom pretty much owns this whole thing. It's an insanely stupid deal.

NATO does not give two damns about nuclear energy development in Turkey. You are confusing it with nuclear weapons development, which I assure you that Turkey is no closer to getting now than it was 2 decades ago. Russians definitely aren't going to give you the know-how. Turkey has been researching thorium-based reactors for almost half a decade now in co-operation with European companies. Why hasn't big, bad US stopped that, according to your logic? The partnership with Japan had basically zero US involvement. The US has also historically not been able to do much to stop Japan from co-operating with countries that they do not like so I'm not sure where this theory of US conspiracy comes from.

For the record, I'm not opposed to nuclear power plants in Turkey. As Europe's current predicament shows, nuclear is the future whether we like it or not. What I do oppose is short-sighted agreements which hand over Turkey's energy security to its biggest geopolitical rival.

Here we go again
This is a good move for now, since it will pressure Egypt and make it feel isolated. This will give Turkey an upper edge in negotiations

Now, with the current situation, a FTA should be signed and Turkey will probably sell TB2s to KSA

I dont like the fact that Turkey is making peace with the one who hurt Turkish dignity by killing a journalist in its own soil, but the fight with Greece takes precedence, I guess.....

he would be respected if he is man of his word . but to attack someone then you ask his forgiveness is literally the definition of a cuck. I wouldn't mind if it was personal , but RTE is the a president of a country and his actions represent turkey either you like it or not .

I hope imam oglou win the next election , yes he is full of shit but at least is not hypocritical as RTE

Hm...... i dont wanna it get political.... but what do u think imamoglu would do? In fact, If Imamoglu was in Erdo's place ever since this incident began, then iam 100% sure that any of the iYi, CHP, or even MHP would have just kept it under the rug to gain points with MBS

Erdo's plan was to put political pressure on MBS by blackmailing him while MBS was suffering backlash from Western human rights and blah blah and it would have been perfect if the current king would have sacked MBS for another prince which may give Turkey an edge in negotiations with new figures. His initial plan was nice.... he wanted to see KSA and USA butt heads against each other but again.... Erdo is an idiot because he didnt pour enough "fuel" to the fire

However, Erdo's plan was thrown in the bloody garbage because that Idiot Erdogan didnt even think for once that even the US would have the courage to say no sanctions on MBS infront of the whole world as if it was nothing. The moment this was said, Erdo literally lost the fight

Israel will proceed with or without the US support , this move by the us ( if it's true ) just to put pressure on israel not to escalate tensions with Iran.

anyway , can't wait to see how RTE will use this as a huge victory
From where will Israel bring the money? This thing will cost at least billions of dollars, lool!
You think it cost pennies to build a pipeline from Israel to Greece?
Stuff isnt that easy mate
The main idea of Israel was to have the US pay for the pipeline in return for Israel becoming the main energy supplier to EU rather than Russia while Israel gains more bucks

anyway , can't wait to see how RTE will use this as a huge victory
It is a small victory and RTE may use it if there were no hidden deals along with it
The US probably made this move as a sign of godwill to Turkey. However, nothing will change with it though.
Erdo clearly stated before that if any foreign pipeline crosses Turkey's EEZ, he will give the DIRECT order to blow it up. Such statements were followed by actual formal letters to the Israeli, Greek, and Greek Cypriot govt.....

If Israel doesnt have any problems, then why didnt they initiate the construction of the pipe already. The pipe was proposed 4 years ago and yet nothing is done which shows that the govt is indeed applying political and military pressure regarding the issue

However, as Hulusi Akar stated before, the main problem between Turkey and USA is the PKK and not the East Med

@Lool

funding the project is not a problem for israel since they can look for another investors , israel want the us to be involved not because of it's power but it's money . israel will look for a european consortium to fund the project or even a loan to fund it.

Its common sense, if the israelis would push to build something -trough turkish waters- then this would mean war.
