Upfront Payment is not important. The real problem is Israeli and Egyptian gas is not competitive versus Russian, Azerbaijani, Iranian, Turkmen, Kazakh, Algerian or Libyan gas. The moment that pipeline is built Russians will lower the gas prices a bit and Israel will be forced to sell at a loss. Another reason is the US is selling a huge amount of shale gas to the EU.

Electric grid connection is also is not viable. You can't transmit that much electrical power through cables losses are too great. Besides natural gas is also used as a raw material for the industry and heating the buildings. Using electricity for home heating is not efficient. I'm not saying there wont ever be an electrical grid connection but that connection will only carry a really low amount of energy compared to a potential gas pipe. A gas pipe carries billions of cubic meters of gas. Equivalent electrical energy is too much to transport. Too much energy will be lost to cable and transformation/conversion losses at such long distances.

This bs map of Turkish "Kurdistan" is getting larger by the day.

These idiots dont realise that the places they seek dont even have majority Kurdish populations there.

When are people going to call out the Kurds and their fascist behaviour?

The Germany-Norway interconnector is 500km long alone under the sea. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NordLink)
Connecting Alexandria to let's say Fethiye is little more than 500km. Why wouldnt it be feasible?

The currently planned EuroAfrica Interconnector is of course a waste of money because (same as with the gas pipe) they are trying to lay it around Turkey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EuroAfrica_Interconnector

How much electricity does that line carry between Germany and Norway and how much Egypt EU line will carry? You will answer your own question when you compare those values. Delivering 5-10 billion cubic meters of gas with a pipeline is easy but delivering equivalent electrical energy with cables is really hard.

The total installed power capacity of the EU is around 1000 GW and Türkiye is around 100 GW. The highest-rated interconnect line in the world is 12 GW (Zhundong–Wannan line in China).

Ex CJTF-OIR spokesperson Myles Caggins with some "Great Insights".

Our MFA should do the necessary diplomatic response to this stupidity!

Idiots like this just show you in how much of a downfall the US Military and its foreign policy planers are. This dude is a full blown commie terrorist symphatizer who used is position as a spokesperson inside the Coalition to spread balant black pkk proganda filled with lies to the brim and no one questions this person.

Not one person from the media or inside the same apparatus he was working in.

People like this invaded departments in the US thanks to Obama, and then they used/are using their positions to further their own leftist ideals which collorate with the pkk mindset.

McGurk is another idiot. Faciliated many humiliations and failures of American foreign policy in the ME for Obama was kicked out by Trump for being an absolute moron and then invited back by Biden.

These people create policy on the ground, not driven by protecting american interests which would align with supporting Turkey but instead their own ideologies.

What a fall from grace for the US.

Just read his twitter profile. My god.

If it wasnt feasible, it wouldnt be build. I.e. Electricity is cheaper in country A and instead of it going to waste or stored it is sold with some loss during transmission but its still cheaper for country B to buy. The Link between Germany and Norway is proving that. It is largely privately funded. Its not meant to replace the entire electricity production but to support the grids in peak phases.

Your Germany-Norway line carries 1.5 GW. The installed power capacity of Germany is 220 GW.

Total egyptian power capacity is ~50 GW .. for >100million population .. so what are the gonna transfer ?

Let's assume a sizeable 5GW interconnect is planned(more than 3 times bigger than the line between Germany and Norway) So you are saying EU will end up being enemies with TR for 0,005 of its energy needs. EU is not dumb it is better to invest those funds in renewables and local production. 1km of cable laying costs 2 million dollars per km and transformation/conversion stations cost around 150 million $ maybe more.

I'm not saying there won't be a line but that line will probably be with the permission of TR and it will carry an insignificant amount of energy compared to what the EU needs so it won't be a strategic line like a natural gas pipeline that has the potential to satisfy a good portion of EU energy need. In fact, don't be surprised if Egypt ends up buying electricity from the EU.

Their Kurdistan they love using comes from the Seljuks 🤣

Kurdistan is a geographical term does not really mean a kurdish state was there.

Geographical terms change over time hence why we are not using Gaul, Hibernia, Illyria or whatever term from various empires and kingdoms. They are all obsolete terms.

Many of them are thicker than their monobrows bro. They've got no problem appropriating Turkish culture, foods and products when they open their PKK money laundering shops here in the UK. They'll use a name like "TURKISH DELIGHT MINIMART," shelves full of Turkish goods, meanwhile map of Kurdistan on the wall, trying to rob you when you pay, second floor of the building filled with 20 bunkbeds for their illegal immigrant PKK terror sympathising mates.

Imagine white people trying to appropriate black culture. Uproar. Meanwhile these diet Iranians are happy to pretend to be Turks when it benefits them.

Isreal ever nuked Turkey, you can guarantee the next thing Turks will do is get nukes themselves and wipe Isreal off the map. Its not common sense for Isreal to go up against Turkey over a pipeline that offers a few billion in revenues over 50 years. Not to mention Isreal already does good business with Turkey.

From a Turkish perspective there is no way she can allow her southern maritime boundaries to be exploited by hostile states. For Turkey its an issue of sovereignty. some thing happened in 1974 when going into Cyprus and liberating half the island. We had the soviet union and Britain threatening war against Turkey, both nuclear powers.

Even on the island when the greek forces were hiding next to British bases and the British were thinking they can protect the greek forces, the Turks fired warning shots near the British bases, saying if you continue to harbour the enemy the Turkish military will even target the British. The British ended up telling the greek forces to leave the area.

The outcome was military victory for Turkey.
