@GoatsMilk AKP supporters are already celebrating this as a ‘’victory’’ on Twitter lol. Real sheeps. No wonder the country is sinking.

and let me guess anyone who points out what a failure it is is demonised as secularist, or a CHP supporter or someone who hates Islam? Turkey may be done for. Eventually it moves into a theocratic dictatorship, it becomes so economically and socially weak that the outsider eventually breaks her up.

Actually I forgot about arms embargo aspect, I guess thats something TR did get lifted by this stuff:

....but will they hold to that stuff?...and how relevant were these two anyway to TR arms industry and overall security provision etc etc.

I mean Germany arms embargo (and other arms embargo by Canada, US and other NATO members) on Turkey are quite notorious and well known already and have set precedent already once you are NATO member.

TR could have pushed for compensation from the arms embargoes from Sweden + Finland....and maybe more importantly also the existing NATO members first.

There were lot of options for TR, I feel there is significant missed opportunity for Turkey to rectify its position and status in NATO.

This stuff seems to have been dusted off now and treated as acceptable to do.

This is why i much prefer the more quiet but tough executive branch of govt.....rather than opposite.

Well, the good part is that people laugh at them and point out how naive they are. But still… You have the common supporter who doesn't care and turns a blind eye, as usual.
Seriously sometimes I ask myself how such people exists. Either they are incredibly stupid, or they are paid by the state. Or both.

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist over a memorandum of understanding? Turkiye hasn’t signed on the most important dotted lines yet. This Feels more like a PR stunt to appease all the slacked-jawed-yokels and holy-than-thou types on both sides via the media. I reckon there’s plenty to play out. Also, let’s not underestimate the EU & US bastardry going on behind the scenes before shitting on Tayyip. Appreciate that many don’t like him but the criticism is a bit premature imho.

Tbh, Erdo will lose either way; it isnt because Sweden is strong or whatever but because it is what the US wants!

With this shitty MoU, Turkey will be forced to remove its veto; the moment Sweden joins NATO, expect a big middle finger from them towards Turkey and it isnt because Sweden is strong but because they have the support of papa US which owns literally all Med East states (aside from Israel) by the balls

When Sweden wanted to join NATO, Erdo stood up against it (which is the right thing to do) but then the US must have pressured Erdo one way or another behind the scenes. The same scenario applied in Syria, whenever Erdo does something that may benefit Turkey in the long run or reduce damage in the long run, the US intervenes to stop it..... PERIOD! Turkey is way too weak, contrary to what others think, and as long as Turkey is energy dependent, expect it to continue kissing ass*s

The picture says it all, look at Erdogan face, this isnt the face of a victor but the face of some1 who did something he doesnt wanna do because he was threatened from behind the scenes

Shitty MoU, I swear

I expected a mechanism that allows Turkey to pull the plug at any time on them should they revert course.
It's literally impossible for Turkey to demand that. NATO membership is binding, once you're in, you're in. In order for Turkey to be able to revoke Finland and Sweden's membership, you'd have to essentially change the legal structure of NATO itself, which would also massively backfire on Turkey because it would expose you to the possibility of being expelled from NATO as well.

Again, this clown show has done absolutely nothing except destroy Turkey's image even further. Turkey should have been discussing this stuff behind closed doors but Erdogan wanted to play "tough leader" and decided to posture for the Turkish public by making Turkey look even worse to everyone else in the world. He hasn't even managed to get Finland and Sweden to agree on YPG and the "arms embargo" was apparently not even in force anymore.

OPTICS. MATTER. Turkey desperately needs some charismatic leaders with good diplomatic acumen. Erdogan has all the charisma of an angry drunk.

If americans wanted Turkey out of NATO no mechanisms would stop it. Legal agreements apply to the weak differently to how they apply to the strong.

Its ridiculous to claim victory but it seems everybody was turning against us.

Basically we were alone lots of bs propaganda of how we are hostile or helping Russia.

Erdogan should have kept the circus longer so sweden and finland keep on begging for Nato.

If only the Russians hit Helinski.

Lets not forget we are outsiders to nato. Once we get nukes and enough firepower time to go alone and forge your destiny.

Agreed
But until Turkey reaches this stage it will still be branded as "weak" and the way the rules being applied to the weak differs from how it is appkied to the strong

Idk how long it will take to reach this point, but till then I expect that each and every action that Erdo or any other president may do or initiate for the sake of Turkey will be mercilessly crushed by the US! Erdo isnt stupid that is for sure; I do remember him saying that we must learn from Greece's entry into NATO and this means he knows the consequences and yet removed the VETO; thus, implying that the US had a hand in this matter

And this isnt related to the topic, but the greatest benefitor from this filthy war are the Americans themselves. It makes me feel as if the Biden's administration have actually been plotting for this war to occur to weaken Russia and expand NATO

Remember this we are seen backwards asiatic muslim invaders.

We are only put in nato as a wall against the soviets.

When we start looking out for our own interests is when they start their stupid games.

Thats why we should be smart about this no more staying in camps we should not even think of sacrificing 1 Turkish soldier for the Americans and Europeans.

Honestly we have our own beef with Russia and China.

But we should never be footsoldier for the Americans and Europeans. Let them deal with their own problems.

To them we just cannon fodder who has to be sacrificed for their "way of life".

If something can be worked out with everybody fine.

Im not against Americans, Europeans, Chinese or the Russians. But we should always look out for own being.

Lets be honest the Americans, Europeans and the Russians are working together in building a terrorist state in our backyard they did not give a shit when their pkk terrorists started blowing shit up.

Lets not forget in Germany how neo nazis burnt a Turkish family alive German politicians shed crocodile tears while in reality they basically were happy with it.

I think race plays a role here. We will never be accepted into their civilisation. We dont qualify as westerners, europeans, whites and christians.

Basically seen as Asiatic invaders who need to be wiped out or sent back to Central Asia.

I think people need to wake up to reality.

We need a leader who is pragmatic not a circus show.

Bosniaks and Albanians are white but them being Muslim basically discounted them from being European and white. Hence why they were called Turks.

Turco-Albanians is still used as a slur in the Balkans.

Albanians are more white than Greeks them being majority Muslim are not recognised as being European.

Bigger kick in the balls is for Bosnia and Georgia who have been trying to join nato for ages.

While sweden and finland who havent done fck all against the Russians basically get a easy access into nato.

Then again who decides who goes in nato its the Americans.

half of so called greeks are hellenized arnavites.

Anybody who was orthodox christian was basically called Greek and anybody who was Catholic were called Latin ehile Muslims were called Turks. I think this was in Albania. It was easy for Orthodox Christian Albanians to be hellenised to the religion as they were called Greek. Orthodox Christianity the religious language was Greek.

Thats true because they were called Turks. To them any Muslim was a Turk who needed to be wiped out and destroyed.

Anybody who was Muslim at the time were called Turks.

Isnt it crazy how today when you say you are Muslim everybody automatically thinks of an Arab while in the past if you said you are Muslim they will automatically think of a Turk.

Europeans everytime they met different Muslims they either called them Turks or Moors.

Spanish came to the Philippines and called the native Muslims who live there as Moros which means Moor.
