turn the game => France needs IS to stay MALI. Without IS there would be no France. W This theater is played every day in Syria.
France is financing those terrorist groups through ransom to stay. Just search the total DGSE paid to those groups, maybe its over 200€million in the past 10 years, most of those kidnapped are retired military personnel. Suddenly they travel to an African country and they got kidnapped, after that the DGSE pays those terroris to release those French civilians (retired soldiers).
It's a dirty game, they played it over and over, now its boring to watch.

Yeah, basically those countries are already using Franc even before the 2013 intervention.

If you are France which way would you choose ?

1. Milking Africa whist having no security commitment
2. Milking Africa whilst having to also throwing money to sustain Africa

am sure France like all capitalistic country would choose #1

In fact France had threatened to pull its troops out few months ago, certainly France is OK by not putting troops in Africa.
should France withdraw, the Chenese and the Russians would wait. And they would mercilessly erase IS.

IS gives France a reason to stay. Don't be so naive, France is fighting IS and is losing its reason to stay?

Oh come on, anybody who knows the insurgency in the central Syrian desert knows how inept the Russians are when it comes to counter insurgency. In direct contrast with the relative safety of areas under the US backed SDF.

And the Chinese are known for their unsophisticated method for CT (mass arrests and imprisonment)

The best counter insurgency forces remains the western CT forces.

Why would they stay when they could throw the responsibility to local forces ?

Yes, in fact we know the Russians, how roughly they acted in Beslan. No consideration for hostages, no consideration for one's own losses. All that counted was wiping out the enemy. And that's what IS needs. Western CT can not do that.

info for you, the one in command of Russian units in Beslan was Sergei Soigu. Today's Defense Minister of Russia.

I'm not talking about Beslan but the Central Syrian insurgency.

When it comes to CT , the absence of considerations towards locals and over destructive methods rarely ended in success. Afghanistan debacle is one such example. You're going yo turn the population into an isis sympathizer that way.

They talk about politics while you talk about the defence matter.
They insist the problem is France while you realise the problem is military, corruption, coup, terrorism, rivality, mindset, stability and political incapability. Well, if they think they know their problem very well I think no need to argue with them. We can say Good luck for them and let's hope their leader not do some blunder.

When France intervenes to save their asses it is imperialism, colonialism when we don't we "abandon them". France is just a scapegoat for the incompetence of their armed forces and their political power. The day France leaves I give few weeks before all this region falls into the islamists hands and when they will impose the shariah they will beg France to save their asses as always..... or maybe the Russians.... who knows.

Why do you think people suspect you of these things? Perhaps French colonial history plays a great role in such opinions. Even today the French are involved in robbing African colonies.
