General aviation took off after the WW2 when there were plenty of small airplanes and engines made for them were left over from the war. Unfortunately Türkiye was not included it the aviation rush. However there is a new age and new opportunity particularly made for Türkiye. The drone industry have produced over a thousand tactical class drones of which we have just learned that 917 of them are Bayraktar TB2. The TB2 and any other tactical drone is in a class where the plane is capable of carrying two people while they are not actually made for people. While the planes are not made for people the engines are capable of powering a plane that can carry two occupants. A 100 hp engine is the perfect power plant for a two seat airplane. Baykar recently announced that they need 200 engines per year just to replace the engines powering the existing drones. What happens to those engines taken out of the planes while they arguably still have life in them. What if those engines are maintained and put into use in civilian light sport aircraft. It would be the aviation run of post ww2 era all over again, and particularly for Türkiye.
So, how likely is it that this scenario comes to life.
