Yup ,but still you need to start manufacturing , bae don't have magic wand .

It needs time to manufacture , and if they think they can do it in just 6 months or less , it will disappointment for many turkish memebers
Tbh you have no right to criticize a company regarding release dates. If the project doesn't make it on time then you can come here and critizise. Turkey has enough of ("know it alls") just like you so don't "bark" about the release dates. Just because India failed the Tejas doesn't mean Turkey will.

Two factors
1- it coincides with the 100th year of the republic of Turkey; thus, it is anspecial day in the hearts of the turks and these projects are without a doubt a symbol of strength and independence. I mean how many nations can actually build their own fighter jets and 5th generation to boast at that...... like even most of europe cant do so and even those who can mainly do so by partnerships with other countries. Not to mention that none in Europe can produce 5th gen fighter jets till now

2- Politics
The AKP probably wanna prove to the ppl that they are the ones who pioneered the industrial revolution in Turkey and that they are the ones who will propel Turkey and the Turks to even greater heights and ofcourse elections. They wanna use such things as propaganda and again if they did actuqlly make it, then they deserve to use it as propaganda such projects began and ended during the AKP era...... they will probably say..... we only ruled for 20 years and did all that and now compete with the likes of USA and China while the CHP ruled during the previous 50 years (Pre AKP era) and did nothing. This is probably the mentality they are going for....... I guess

Honestly, if they are true to their word and actually managed to get such planes done by 2023 it will be a great achievement tbh no matter what other ppl say as there is only a year and half left. Moreover, it will be a sign to the whole world and to those who thought that the turks are weak that the TURKS are coming to get your fqing asses and oh boy have the turks been treated by the west and the gulf unfairly during the past decade. Some ppl may get whopped badly by 2040s......lol

Either you guys want your test pilot dead or you live in fantasy .

No country in world has ever produced a fighter jet in just 6 months .

Their is no steel cutting yet , no components testing with 1:1 model , neither you have started its software part for engine integration.

If hurjet rolls out by year end ,then either it's in your dreams or you have to fly it with balloon attached .

Tfx is highly optimistic too , you will get delayed by atleast 2-3 years .

Tfx will be rolled out in 2025 -2026 and induction in 2030's .

Chill down , manned system need time .

Let me share with you what our official timelines are aimed at. You can comment on their feasibility or optimism level, but at least I'm sharing it so you can see that our works also depends on a certain plan. For example, there is a delay of 1 year in Hürjet because of engine issues, but TfX is proceeding on the route.

100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye so there is a great push for national projects. It is also the year of the election this one is another motive. Erdo wants to show those and brag so that he can win votes.

@TurDef
TUSAŞ Executive Vice President Professor Atilla Doğan answered the question about Hürjey to land on TCG Anadolu. Professor Doğan, “The aircraft was designed as a jet trainer, and it is not designed to take off and land from an aircraft carrier. Is the speed regime suitable for landing and take-off from the aircraft carrier? Are some modifications required other than the speed regime? We’ve done some preliminary work on the carrier to see if it requires some modifications. It is seen that it can take off with the existing engine power without the need for additional thrust, and an arresting system will be needed for landing. Our goal is to make its first flight at the end of 2022. We are trying to run other activities without dedicating too much engineer resources,” he said. Kotil added that if a plane is going to land on the ship, this plane will be landed.

Not to mention our participation on F-35.
Mid fuselage only , and some participation in maintenance work , avionics and all were all american , seat is british , armament are country specific .

This update on production is what is asked earlier ,as there is no info on google about it , and no announcement was made about steel cutting .

If have any peice of some official statement ,it would be better
Steel cutting? Is there anything ever such on aerospace industry anymore?

Just read the forum, search the forum. There was no exact official information about the engines either yet it is spoken around and mentioned in this forum.

I am just curious what do you aim to accomplish by belittling anything done by turkish aerospace industry?

For further reference on what TAI and other aviation firms do in F-35 or other civilian + military + joint projects you may refer to Turkish industry section and do some searches.

?????

That's american . And upgradation of f 16 is not upto block 72 standards .

You need to cool down. It's fine. It's Turkeys product. It's no problem being optimistic. If you are feeling they are unrealistic, then wait for a few months. We will see. No need to argue too much unnecessarily

The other member has not abused any member here. If some feel they are adding "no value comment" then no one needs to respond. Ignore and move on.

Many members are taking genuine questions like criticisms and as if a difference in fighter development can be seen from projects in Europe, US or even India.

Testing an manned fighter is an exhaustive ball game. Let's say you have 1000 parameters to check. You have successfully tested 999. And then have an issue with an last one. You redo the change even if by adding one if statement. You have to retest all 1000 parameters again. And the funny part is, that one statement will break any other parameter and will again relook at the code. Testing and validation is fun 😁👍

And this validation can't be done with one ac. You need to have variables. One needs to have preferably atleast 3 protos almost with the same design. And if the first proto has some minor design issue, it needs to be rectified in the second. Or the existing one needs to be modified and again tested for 1000 parameters.

And again it would be kinda fun integrating all electronics to the mission computer. And when sub-systems fail testing, the engineers have to pray to God hoping it's not an hardware issue. If it's software it can be modified with sometime. If it's hardware it has to go back to design review of that sub-systems, testing and validation again.

And then testing an new aircraft would ask for new test infra in the country or have to ask LM or BAE facilities to do testing (it can fastrack schedules). Test jigs, fixtures have to be designed and installed for testing mechanical parts for limited production as well.

I think the BAE role here is to certify and qualify the aircraft. Certification and qualifications is a separate huge discipline altogether. No one will certify any aircraft in 1-2 year. Cos it needs data, flying variables under different conditions, min hours required.

India learnt from Tejas, the hard way. I think LM was supposed to be our advisor, but the nuclear tests of 1998 put an full stop to it. India had to develop everything from scratch. From FCS tool, test infra (huge), modalities, certification and we had our pilots trained in US on how to become test pilots for new aircrafts etc. The only thing we were worse were in management and decided to use our own engine instead of going foreign. It wasted nearly 8 years of our programme. These are the only advantages Turks would have but the other dev activities can't be shortened, cut or dealt with. It has to follow normal development process which is trial and error.

It is why I personally follow Hurjet project lot closer. The timelines are sooner, more things matured/maturing quicker for it.... and it will illustrate the ecosystem maturity to take forward with TFX.

i.e we will see good proof one way or another (of everything you mention having to come together) in timeframe some are getting into (somewhat unnecessary tone) debate about.

There is no need to overly-praise or overly-diminish a solid project that is in the flow of things right now (that we cannot judge in some close-up microsystem way).

Results simply can be monitored and followed and compared with the debate preceding it....there should be no rush to produce judgement in this juncture from relatively casual observers + enthusiasts.

If it flies on 18 march 2023 at 7:00 am(as promised by TAI) then it means it is successful if not then it means there is a delay. Only 575 days left to go. 1 year 6 months and 26 days. That day also will be a good metric to judge the health of the TF-X project. TF-X rollout is promised to happen on that day. If it happens it will mean that the TF-X project is on track.

Exactly. It's overtly aggressive. They can reduce induction timeline if they want to be strictly a trainer. In that case, weapon integrations or drop tanks can take a back seat.

I have my reservation on the timeline as well. But willing to wait. We will know by end of this year if a prototype is rolled out or not. There is no need to overtly argue over something like timelines when there is still time left.
