It depends on what they are doing in every flight, whether big chunks or small bits of envelope expansion is in question, production time being brought nearer says something.
I'm not sure if there's any envelope expansion. On Feb 24th, they said it flew up to 15.403 feet. Now the tweet of TAI says it reached 15k feet. So it didn't fly any higher in the last two months. We haven't seen any aggressive manoeuvre or sharp turns or anything. And there's no supersonic flight yet..

I should say expansion of planes capabilities in many respects. The plane has to handle everything to a safe degree before they can push it further. This is also the first manned jet the company is making so the pace of progress is acceptable if not fast, I should say.

Hürjet test pilot says they will expand Hürjet's flight envelope beginning this May.

true. the site does not display tweets with domain name of x. it should be twitter.

Why don’t we see any other prototypes still? Is this bird being ignored in favor of Kaan?

Prototypes are made for a reason: testing

If testing of a prototype has not reached a certain level, don't expect a second prototype (since the second proto may need some adjustments, design refinings etc.)

True and more than 50 test flights. It looks like it has been designed very well and TAI is still continuing tests with the same prototype.

This is not a bad sign, on the contrary it's good. Continuing with same proto does not make lose time, it safes time.

It is even that good (hope we don't push nazar here) that TAI is planning production models in 2025, we have no single reason to complain there!

Those capabilities don’t mean anything when the enemy has air superiority though. UCAVs are basically flying chickens against fighter jets. And Bangladeshi air force lacks fighters even against a country like Myanmar with their Su-30s and new Jf-17s. What they would really could use is a dual role future Hürjet to complement their ancient Mig-29s. That is probably at least a decade away tho.

Yes, and it would be great if they persue the development of a single seat version optimised for A2A combat. Like KAI is doing with FA-50.

I am increasingly skeptical of buying 16x Eurofighters for $3 billions. Leaving aside the current problem with such large funding, operational logic is also dubious. With big logistical footfrint, it will be hard to disperse and protect them on the ground. Also, even a loss of single one would have big impact.

Given Malaysia bought 18x FA-50 block 20 for $900 millions, 16x Hurjet light attack version with armament package can be reasonablely bought for a billion or slightly less. (assuming Turkish products will be more cost effective.) That something looks financially doable in the short term. Perhaps with 16x more optional. And the pruchase cost can be distributed over longer time period.

We will need to replace 32x F-7 soon. And I don't think we can afford that numbers of Gripen/F-16 or J10C. So, instead of dreaming for the best that never comes and wasting lots of valuable years, Hurjet is something actually doable. Also, TAI's potential offer for local assembly is somthing to consider. Given BD already developed basic trainer locally, there are minimum experties and infustructure (although insufficient) available to build upon.

However, one critical thing for Hurjet to be competitive is Gokhan. (along with its AESA radar) With its ramjet propulsion it can compansate for range and kinetic deficiencies of conventional BVR weapon like Gokdogan resulting from Hurjet's lesser speed and altitude. Otherwise going against SU-30 would be a bit of madness.

Within the scope of the Hürjet program, the platform is aimed to have highly competent qualifications. Thus, in addition to AJT and LIFT as NVG compatible, it will have state of the art HMI, High AoA, HUD and Helmet mounted Display, fully digital FCS, wet and dry Aerial refuelling, AESA radar targeting pod, A-to-A, A-to-G strike ammunition compatibility, and many more... In terms of propulsion, volume and targeted roles, probably the closest example is the KAI T-50/TA-50 (Golden Eagle) and FA-50 (Fighting Eagle) programs of our Korean friends. KAI was also studying on a variant of this platform with almost the same payload capacity as the F-16 (I think twin-engine), but I don't know what the current status is.

The fact that it is a two-seater jet and will be able to offer an avionic infrastructure similar to the KAAN main combat jets suggests that the Hürjet will not be limited to training pilots as a lead-in jet. Its carrying capacity will be significantly increased in phases such as Block 2 or 3 of the LCA variant. And in fact, a highly capable platform is emerging, regardless of its carrying capacity. If you take into account the fact that it can be produced with our domestic industrial capabilities without being dependent on foreign countries, it is very likely that we will try many things on this platform.
