Btw, i want to started an historical thread here but this about Netherland Indies military history, this including their defense industry, military operation and their order of battle. It seems we are neglecting such precious presence of our history no matter how dark it is, it is all for lesson purpose not for anything else. If not how we can learn their ultimate failure when facing against forces such as Imperial Japan, when we are deemed to repeat their play style and indecisiveness

I am just asking it is suitable for Indonesia section or not?

Should also include VOC era. I believe I may be able to add one or few things from VOC time period

Dear friends.
I am wrting a book about old Soviet destroyers and i will have a separate chapter about 30-bis Skory class destroyers in Indonesia service. Here in Russia we have rather limited information about 8 destroyers delivered within the period of 1959-1965. I have already got valuable information from some Indonesian member of this Forum, but will be grateful for more.
1. So far, I have the following names and hull numbers:
RI Siliwangi 201 - delivered in 1959
RI Singamangaradja 202 -delivered in 1959, later hull changed to 302
RI Sandjaja 203 - delivered in 1959
RI Sarwadjala 204, after the collision with wreck of the Dutch ship in November 1959 renamed to Sawoenggaling 204- delivered in 1959
RI Sultan Iskandar Muda 304 - delivered in 1962
RI Diponegoro 306 - delivered in 1964
RI Brawidjaja 307 - delivered in 1964
RI Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin 308 - delivered in 1965
Could you kindly confirm it?
2. I have very limited info about career path of the ships (only some info about RI Siliwangi 201, RI Singamangaradja 202 and Sawoenggaling 204)
will be grateful for info about any activities of other ships.
3. Eventual fate of the ships. I have info about only two:
RI Singamangaradja 202 was sold to Japanse coompany for scrap in 1970 and RI Sarwadjala 204 was sunk by P-15 missile during exercices in May 1971
Any additional info?
4. Photos. I have photos of only 3 ships - RI Siliwangi 201, RI Singamangaradja 202 and RI Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin 308
may be some good members could share some more?
5. Names of ship's commanders.
I know that famous admirals Soebono and Sudomo used to be commanders of RI Siliwangi 201and Sawoenggaling 204 correspondingly, but may be you can kindly advise more names?
Anyway, I will be grateful for any info regarding Skory destroyers service in Indonesia.

Terima kasih sebelumnya,
Tupolev16

Indonesian delegation visit Vietnam in 1960, noted the style of Indonesian officers at the time quite stylish, practical for tropical weather and long lasting fashion.

Interesting, i just noted Indonesian Armed Forces uniform and BDU style after the acknowledgment of Independence from Netherland is always up to date and in line with general trend. The only time they are lagged behind is during 1998 through 2005 something after that they are trying to catch the time again
