Casual Discussion How to verify someone whether they are really employed by US army?

Good morning,

I am talking to someone who claims to be a member of US army, air force unit in Germany in particular. It looks too good to be true a bit.
How can I find out if it is not a scam and the man is actually who he claims to be? The lad seems to be genuine, but I still have a bit of reservations.
Is there any way to check his name somewhere?
Please don´t laugh at me, today´s world is full of people pretending to be someone else. I will appreciate some decent advice.

Ask his full name,call Ramstein Base and ask for him as his friend/girlfriend or family.

In the end I finished talking to this guy, as it felt like a scam.
The guy was transferred to Jordan apparently. And then it started to feel after a while like Indiana Jones story. Anyone knows anyone in Jordan bases ?

This is a very well known scam so good for you. Most here are hobbyists, most of us are not active duty, and number of americans here are really low.

Another question here: I am told by someone else claiming to be from AFOSI that they don´t have the access to their bank account. I do not believe that the army can freeze bank accounts. Anyone on deployment has the access to their bank account, right?

Just date in your vicinity maam honestly nothing good can come out of any of this.
