This really went off radar. Aside from ParM, also known as 35mm ATOM. There is works on RoKEM which is an munition optimized against rocket propelled munitions. I expect an update this IDEF.

There is going to be a drama with people calling it copy. People who say this don't know how manufacturing, real projects work. Phalanx has been in development for 40 years. Malera is almost 60. Will you use proven designs that will work or go on a high risk endeavor to create something unique. We earned experience with Korkut, Gokdeniz. This will be our first project in this type. First goal is satisfying Navy's immediate need. Second is future development, where unique designs will happen.

Ther is up and downs with Gokdeniz when you compare it with Phalanx like systems. Better have them both on your ship. Combine it and use it.

I dont see why MKE cannot be at least partially be privatized. We need these companies to be competitive and not bureaucratic. Of course the state should always keep a controlling stake.

Privatize to whom? Public or a company? MKE is an tekel. Any private company who get ownership likely would do minimal investment possible and pocket the money. First fire the partisan board members, anyone who wouldn't be able to be in that position under normal conditions. Replace them with ex-defence industry, military etc. employees. Open a analytics, strategic planning office for the company. Hire engineers from diaspora to give company more international vision in order to achieve success in both international government and civilian markets. Establish one of the best intern/job programs for new engineers and technical vocational schools. Open design office in Istanbul, more talent pool, also good place to start naval division.

Partially privatization of MKE would be good. Problem is if Goverment has a finger in it. They tend to abuse their authority, especially in a country like Turkey.

Any kind of change would require many years or hard work to improve.

I think vocational school etc. is a great idea along with intern and job etc. But like you said it'd be best to have ex military guys in the company even on the board, and take it from there.

Does Komaksan produce to defense industry. I think it's pretty awesome that they're exporting to 92 countries and provide aftersale services.

I actually wanted to start a thread about education, and a list of technical vocational studies that could be good to consider if you want to/chance to work in defense industry. But I'm an economist so can't really say I have much to contribute :)

btw, awesome promo video

MKE will be successful because now it can contract Aselsan for FCS, Anova for the water cooling system, another company for servos, etc. This is how 76mm naval gun is successfully developed.
Successful? Have you read what @Sinan has written?

Some external design changes between pick-up version and normal version, possibly due to climate requirements
