Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi was allowed to proceed to Adiala Jail on Tuesday for a meeting with him, while his wife Bushra Bibi’s daughters were also granted access for a family meeting.
The development came hours after the Supreme Court (SC) ordered authorities to facilitate meetings between the former prime minister and his sisters.
Noreen was among Imran’s three sisters who reached the Dahgal checkpoint on the road leading to Adiala Jail following the court’s order. Police initially stopped Aleema Khan, Dr Uzma Khanum and Noreen at the checkpoint but later allowed only Noreen to proceed towards the prison.
Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi’s meeting with her daughter and sister-in-law at the jail concluded, with Musarrat Khawar Maneka and Mehrunnisa in attendance, according to jail authorities. Jail authorities also said that Noreen entered Adiala Jail through Gate 5 and will meet Imran in the jail’s conference room.
