They must have some gps , inorder to inform the fisherman that they are entring in Pakistani waters , if they have and still ignoring then no need to blame Pakistan for opening fire on them
Most of these shipping trawlers are poorly equipped. And as said, both routinely capture each others' fishermen and after spending some time in custody, are duly returned.

South Asian hatred towards each other sometimes baffles me, they don't even seem trade much between them unlike ASEAN.

There is a lot of trade between India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan. The Indian rupee is legal tender in Bhutan. Heck, before the Taliban takeover, there was a lot of trade between India and Afghanistan too.

Pakistan is a standout -

A. It doesn't have much to sell
B. It doesn't have much money to buy

And of course there is historical baggage.

Actually enmity based on religious lines had been the staple in this particular part of the world.

I mean, this hampers trade.

SE Asia does face betrayal. If I recall correctly, Philippines air force pilot fly and fought for the Permesta rebellion air force (AUREV) in our country in the 1950s and Marcos initiate operation Merdeka to take over Sabah from Malaysia.

Yet, ASEAN seems to forgot past bitterness. And trade booms.

There is no clash of civilizations. This is all exaggerated nonsense. India gets along better with actual Islamic nations than Pakistan does - Bangladesh, Iran, UAE, Oman come to mind.

Perhaps you can shed more light on this since I don't know but I reckon India has better relations with Indonesia and Malaysia too than Pakistan does.

Yes, Hindutva trolls hate Islam. Can't deny it.

Bhutnese , Nepalis and Afghanis have no identity crisis , while only identity of one neighbor is Hindu hate , so its better we recognise it sooner then later .
Regarding fisher man its better either govt provide some kind of beeper to them so that such incidents can be avoided or be readuy for more such incidents , they are frustrated lot and can we consider the killing of some fisherman as victory of Islam

Of all wars, the Brother war is the most intense, painful, impactful one my friend.

For the brother turned against you (and he feels same way).... yet deep down things are not forgotten....and further more things remain in the brothers subconcious.

Imagine if Bali and Lombok split away to become their own country on basis of religion (past all rest of a brother identity) not being same in some way as Java (the largest weight of the constellation)....and there was a massive bloody partition involving millions of families.

i.e pancasila system was not made and there was enough of this raw churn in the patricians involved to do this....

Imagine if Bali and Lombok later had major disagreement and bloody atrocious civil war not long after that (to match the partition again, but this time from the newer asserted brotherhood that rejected older brother).....and they went their own separate ways, one taking major help of Java (which it remembered all along deeper).

Then multiply that all by 10 times or so.....simply there is no brother war in Asia or the world that compares.

You will notice India's relations in all vectors past its neighborhood does not have this burden (Persia, Arabs, West, China, SEA etc).

In any case, our relations and trade with Bangladesh-bhai (whom we paid a lot to help liberate) is cordial, well formed and strong relative to our development levels. They will expand as our economies grow....we are both too underdeveloped still.

Political cycles of India (being the larger country by far) of course impact them heavily (and very regretabbly given some of our politicians thinking and noise).....but that is only of some relevance to the bedrock formed (that has been cleaved to the west of us on the patrician level and now taking shape with time to an extent past that).

But even for this latter "bedrock cleaved" one....even they take a huge amount of trade in the "soft culture realm" or hard trade conduited by UAE.

"Made in UAE" (sometimes just a sticker change) I guess is a more acceptable euphemism for " made in India".

Factoring that all in for income + development levels, the trade level actually makes sense.

=======================================

It is important to realise how few people at the top steered this brother war from the years 1900 - 1950 in the region....and all the coping mechanisms (regarding identity and all the basic things that make society tick) that fill the void downstream (short, mid and long term in all the areas).

It is not without deep poignant philosophical reason (in the great book) that after ejection from Eden (as man was not content with his innocence)....the first murder was that involving two brothers.

Very few Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis understand this deeply enough, as most are steered by local political paradigms downstream (that in of themselves harness the brother wars sad legacy in the mind).

In fact most (esp of the online variety that is most in vogue for mass discourse these days) are of the generation that didn't see the partition and east-wing civil war (for themselves) at all.

I am (as a southie) from part of India that is furthest away from the direct scars left by the brother wars "of the north".

We did not face the worst of that stuff, and we thus get on with certain matters much more frankly and better overall IMO....more or less as our syncretic region has always been before 20th century.

However we have our own brother war close by too (involving an island brother), its just on much smaller scale compared to the northies....and over time will resolve far quicker too.

Bang on. Tbh, except for Punjabis in the North sharing some linguistic and cultural traits and to lesser extent some overlap between the desert communities of Rajasthan / Gujarat in India and Sindh in Pak, rest of us wonder where this "shared heritage" nonsense comes from.

PTI | , Lahore
The Lahore High Court on Saturday set aside a trial court’s conviction and acquitted six senior leaders of Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed’s banned Jamat-ud-Dawah (JuD) in a terror financing case.

Saeed-led JuD is the front organisation for the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the terror outfit responsible for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai attack that killed 166 people, including six Americans.

The anti-terrorism court Lahore in April this year had handed nine-year imprisonment each to JuD senior leaders – Prof. Malik Zafar Iqbal, Yahya Mujahid (JuD spokesperson), Nasarullah, Samiullah and Umar Bahadur - and six months’ jail term to Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki (brother-in-law of Saeed) after an FIR was registered by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab Police.

The trial court had found these leaders guilty of terror financing. They had been collecting funds and unlawfully financing the proscribed organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). It had also ordered the confiscation of assets made from funds collected through terrorism financing.

India accused Pakistan of "misusing" the United Nations' platform "to propagate false and malicious propaganda against" India. Dr Kajal Bhat, Counsellor/Legal Adviser at India's Permanent Mission to the UN, also slammed Pakistan for raking up the issue of Jammu and Kashmir during a debate. She said Pakistan "has been globally recognized as one openly supporting, training, financing and arming terrorists as a matter of State policy".

However, India asserted that the country "desires normal neighbourly relations with all countries, including Pakistan", but will continue to take firm and decisive action against cross-border terrorism.

India was responding to Pakistan in the UN Security Council after Pakistan's Ambassador to the UN, Munir Akram, raked up the Jammu and Kashmir issue during the open debate on 'Maintenance of International Peace and Security Through Preventive Diplomacy'.

"I'm constrained to take the floor once again to respond to some frivolous remarks made by the representative of Pakistan earlier today. This is not the first time the representative of Pakistan has misused platforms provided by the UN to propagate false and malicious propaganda against my country and seeking in vain to divert the world's attention from the sad state of his country where terrorists enjoy a free pass while the lives of ordinary people, especially those belonging to the minority communities are turned upside down," Kajal Bhat said.

Kajal Bhat also reiterated that Pakistan "holds the ignoble record of hosting the largest number of terrorists proscribed by the UN Security Council".

"Member States are aware that Pakistan has an established history and policy of harbouring, aiding and actively supporting terrorists. This is a country which has been globally recognized as one openly supporting, training, financing and arming terrorists as a matter of State policy," Kajal Bhat said.

Responding to Pakistan over the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, Kajal Bhat said the union territories "will always be an integral and inalienable part of India". She also called upon Pakistan to immediately vacate all areas under its illegal occupation.

"I would like to be categorical about India's position. The entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, were, are and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India. This includes the areas that are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. We call upon Pakistan to immediately vacate all areas under its illegal occupation," Kajal Bhat said.

Kulbhushan Jadhav, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in April 2017

Islamabad: The Pakistan Parliament, in a joint sitting on Wednesday, passed a bill that will give Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav the right to appeal against his conviction.
The International Court of Justice (Review and Re-consideration) Bill, 2020, was moved by Law Minister Farogh Nasim. It was passed with a majority vote, Dawn reported.

Mr Jadhav, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court in April 2017. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in its judgment on July 17, 2019, observed that Pakistan was under an obligation to provide by means of its own choosing effective review and reconsideration of the conviction and sentence of Mr Jadhav.

Indian response

In its first response to Islamabad’s new law, India underlined that Pakistan continues to deny unimpeded and unhindered consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav and has failed to create an atmosphere in which a fair trial can be conducted

Talks with BJP-led India not possible, says PM Imran

Prime Minister Imran Khan addresses the inaugural plenary of the ‘Islamabad Conclave-2021’ on Thursday. — PID
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that Kashmir dispute could only be resolved through dialogue, but meaningful engagement with the current government in India was not possible because of its religious nationalism.
Speaking at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad’s (ISSI) ‘Islamabad Conclave-2021’, PM Khan recalled that South Asia had been held back by political differences and conflicts and listed the Kashmir dispute as the “biggest problem” holding the region back.
He said progress in relations between Pakistan and India had been halted because his government had to deal with RSS’s extremist ideology currently dominating Delhi. “Meaningful negotiations with India are impossible as long as the government there is inspired by this ideology,” he said, hoping that one day India could have a rational government with which resolution of disputes could be sought through logical and sane discussions.
The prime minister expected that once the two arch rivals resolved the core dispute of Kashmir they could then go ahead to jointly fight emerging threats like climate change. He regretted that all of his government’s peace overtures to India had so far been seen in Delhi as its sign of weakness.

Fears US-China confrontation moving ‘towards new Cold War’
PM Khan said he firmly believed that those seeking to resolve disputes through war were mistaken. “They are either unaware of history or they are too proud of their weapons,” he said, adding that they certainly had no consideration for humanity. This, he warned, led to grave miscalculations.
He underscored the need for resolving disputes till the last moment through dialogue.
The prime minister also touched upon the aggravating humanitarian situation in Afghanistan and the growing US-China rivalry. He feared that the US-China confrontation was moving “towards a new Cold War” and foresaw formation of blocs. “Pakistan should try its best to stop the formation of these blocs because we should not become a part of any bloc,” he maintained.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also highlighted this concern in his remarks. “There is accelerated competition between major powers, and a drift towards confrontation. This can lead to new rivalries and push the world again into ‘bloc’ politics. A new Cold War seems to be taking shape,” he observed.
He said Pakistan’s primary interest was in seeking a peaceful and stable international order that takes everyone on board. “Pakistan will remain committed to peaceful coexistence, cooperative multilateralism and consensus-driven outcomes,” he added.
ISSI Director General Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, in his introductory remarks, outlined the objectives of ‘Islamabad Conclave’, especially saying it is for narrative building, global engagement and bridging gaps.

Talks with DHA-led Pakistan are not possible.

The same DHA ideologues that perpetrated and wont apologise for their actions in East Pakistan.

Some ABC lackey in-betweens that conveniently changed position on the matter mean about as much as naya/purana/izzat wine in old bottle.

Or is it Yahya Khan whiskey....wish-key-hic....to go along with niazi or whatever other names they all rotate.

For any country of more than 100 million people (and doubly so for 200+ million), India should simply follow "are you tall enough to enter the ride" filter to begin with...

a requirement of at least 100 billion in total savings...to be a serious country worth talking to begin with. If its 5 times less kiddo/midget type....just leave it to be and focus on grown ups that actually know something about something.

Otherwise its some brat sitting on other laps....and complete waste of time for both involved.

Time that is best used talking to FATF, IMF, KSA ,UAE etc (for both)....since red daddy lap is kind of sore and his ears grown unkind to the brats current "evolving" situation....complete with playing brat pattycake with TTP, TLP and the other looney tune ABCs.

Earlier condition was when Indian will reinstate the article 370 , now its BJP govt LoL .

Before 2019 elections :

PM Khan sees better chance of peace talks with India if Modi's BJP wins election

He is trying to apply his swinging (both ways) in bowling to politics.

Problem is politics is different ball game..... he ends up looking like a clown.

Best response for India is to ignore, stay silent and grow our savings, investment and economy more.

Let the latter do the talking..... and let it produce hillarious fawad chaudhry ISRO moments by itself.

It highlighted the major terrorist groups that are active in India, including Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

“The Indian government made significant efforts to detect, disrupt, and degrade the operations of terrorist organizations within its borders,” the report further noted, adding that counterterrorism and security cooperation with the United States expanded in 2020.

The country-wise report on Pakistan said that India’s neighbour took steps to counter terror financing and to restrain India-focused militant groups but made limited progress on its pledge to dismantle all terrorist organizations without delay or discrimination. It highlighted that Islamabad did not take steps under its domestic authorities to prosecute terrorist leaders residing in Pakistan, such as JeM founder Masood Azhar and LeT’s Sajid Mir, mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

India on Tuesday raised strong objections to Pakistan's attempts to build bunkers at the LoC. Republic TV has accessed exclusive videos of Pakistan's illegal construction in the Teetwal Village of Kupwara district. In the video, the Indian side can be heard sending a strong warning to the Pakistan Army, asking it to stop the illegal construction or face the consequences.

"Stop this construction. We have been raising this matter, by request since yesterday. But we will not keep requesting, because we know what other route we can take to stop this," heard the warning from the Indian side.
Speaking to Republic TV, Defence Expert Major Gen PK Sehgal (Retd) said, "Pakistan does not seem to understand the niceties of any agreement whatsoever. Indians have cautioned them to not do so but we will have to take action if Pakistan does not come to its senses. Teetwal is a very sensitive zone, under no circumstance will we allow them to build bunkers. "

Construction has stopped

A police officer said the ‘construction’ has stopped in the area. “They had started constructing some structure on the other side of the border which fell within 500-metre range from this side,” said the officer.

“As a general protocol, no side is allowed to do any sort of construction unless either of the sides is intimated in advance,” he added
