A good video of IAF's S/w Development Institute. It showcases Su-30MKI, LCA, MiG-29, turboprop trainer, AWACS.
AVM K N Santosh, the commander of S/w dev. institute, said that MLU is supposed to happen every 10 years. He believes in achieving 100% self-relliance.
Hats off to my fellow computer/electronics guys:cool:. I wish if i was good enough scorer:geek::LOL: to get into such priviledged place.

They made such a good video private  Why they invested in the 1st place?:LOL:
Admins/Moderators/Members should download such vieos a.s.a.p. after they upload & put it on a common Google drive or something.

They re-uploaded it now:

Maybe you can go through and see if they edited out/censored anything compared to original one

I can't be bothered.

Even if they edited, it is useless now. Lots of people globally - officials, enthusiasts, etc might have downloaded it immediately or taken screenshots.
I don't think there was anyting secret. The code segments were not zoomed for example. Any tech student would know whatever was shown. And it is actually very less compared to what has been shown in Western & Russian documentaries since 1990s on TV & internet. 😜

It was just some 2-star or 3-star flexing over a brig or colonel that vetted it all initially. Politics among this lot.

Fortunately for India, it has the same advantage w.r.t PRC as BD has w.r.t India. PLA's military might is mostly occupied in the East where PRC's primary competition lies.

I'm not giving full time to military analysis but AFAIK neither Bharat has mil. advantage over China nor BD over Bharat. There is no point in comparing BD, Srilanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, etc state sized nation with Bharat bcoz their situation is not like S.Korea, France, Israel, etc.

You didn't understand what I said. I am saying PLA is mostly occupied in the East where it is competing with US and it's allies. Its strategic posture is not built around India. Same with India, its military is occupied in the West and in the North with Pakistan and China. This is not a comparison.

And for BD, it is still a bigger country and economy than all those countries combined. Not strictly comparable.

I got your point but although China's population density in Tibet is low but it has enough military deployment against us & is increasing year by year. It is ahead of us in everything. It is preparing for multi-front war.
Our forces are also among biggest in world, they are divided in regional divisions & can fight multi-front war but mobilizing big regional forces also requires big preparations & costs + it alerts the other side.
So it is not that we are weak in NE. We have small problems everywhere - Naxalites, Maoists/Chinese supporting citizens & politicians, some separatist minded people who don't understand what it takes to make a nation & survive for millenniums, some corrupt politicians & industrialists who only care about their black money, some of our own untrustable people who are foreign puppets doing false propaganda, etc. Our military can tackle all these problems but we want our deluded & corrupted people to understand peacefully. We are trying to avoid emergency situation like President's rule.

With LCA, Tejas Mk2, MRFA, AMCA programmes years behind original schedules, will India at some point acknowledge that the way it procures and develops does not work? It baffles me that India persists with a system that results in failure after failure after failure.

For a start, I would suggest

- simplifying the system
- introducing accountability
- setting up private companies to compete with government-owned entities

Instead of witnessing failures in India's fighter programmes, I would like to start seeing successes!

The same system has taken us to the moon and given nuclear subs. Expecting time lines and cost to fruitfy is pointless in the context of indian Defence space. The orginal tejas program suffered under the sanctions of 90's. India isnt responsible when it comes to GE not providing engines they were supposed to give for mk1A.AMCA is a 5th generation jet its gonna take time. Seeing one country success in one field and expecting another country to do the same is lunatic.

Great to hear that something is happening in Indian military production rather than hearing of what will happen -but doesn't. If C-295 production is happening quickly and smoothly, this new approach is more successful than feeding everything through state-owned enterprises.

I have read in Indian online media that Eurofighter says it could produce 24 fighters a year in India. If supply chain issues are a problem to Rafale, why not to Eurofighter as well?

All the same, Rafale has a large backlog to be produced. UK has zero Eurofighters to assemble, so could perhaps assemble enough for a squadron or more relatively quickly if India chose to order - assuming Turkiye did not choose to order before India.
