I hope those educational reforms introduced in 2020 are implemented real soon...they're not the most ideal but a significant improvement from the current education system
True , our existing education system literally ruins childhood ........ fun part is from 6 year old to leader of opposition every one thinks Modi can resolve their problem from Home Work to vaccinationI hope those educational reforms introduced in 2020 are implemented real soon...they're not the most ideal but a significant improvement from the current education system
I think PM IK did the right thing granting province status with oen budget to KJ area ( can’t recall the name) @Saiyan0321 has written quite a bit on it. The move was smart especially after PM Modi cancelled Kashmirs autonomous status etc. Which is why there are Indian members who lambast that decision as it strengthens Kashmiri muslims independence and potentially joining Pakistan.
I think capitalizing on the mistake and working toward referandum would be the right move.
A successful referandum can’t be ignored. Either way it will force UN to react instead of sufficing with status quo.
Rest of that thread has turned into the usual typical route of convo, and I am not one to talk about A, B C back and forth.....so I brought my larger reply (with larger points) here for some stark thoughts to ponder:
- It was reactionary move by Pakistan's govt. The same argument of pro and con (given the equivalency of action overall) can be made for either side (however one stacks it up)....its not good for one and bad for the other.
- No Indian member here that I know lambasts Art 370 from this perspective (the Pakistani reactionary "response" to do same on their side) or some insinuation of large strengthening of "kashmir muslim independence" (I think you mean separatism?)
- Referendums can be ignored ("successful" or "not" for whatever side). Canada did so multiple times with Quebec (well in advance of whatever "verdict" they gave) as these did not follow the stipulated constitutional process for it. Same with Spain. Same will be result for any unsanctioned one in any part of India....as I would imagine you would say about a Kurdish referendum in Turkey....since Turkish constitution does not sanction it.
- Where it has followed a constitutional process (almost always dictated by the original union process and legislature bills based on that), we get stuff like the scottish one (which lost 45 - 55 I believe). It is also imperative to study what India's constitution is like for this w.r.t same unification process....very different to UK on this matter.
- The UN did not and would not intervene in any way for any of those (earlier referenda, sanctioned or not) or this case either....especially after Pakistan violated the whole principle of the UN ceasefire agreement to begin with in massive way in 1965 (adding to not withdrawing its forces as stipulated as the first step by the UN in the ceasefire agreement).
- There is only one country in subcontinent (after creation of the basic nationstates by partition) that was involved in having huge number of muslims (external to own political realm), find better realised independence again due to a yoke imposed on them yet again by their own (other half) compatriot's establishment at the time.
- The Kashmiris are especially well attuned to that and to the terror export inflicted on them by this same establishment and where that psyche comes from and how it is sustained/justified (and how this was what created the condition for the Indian response to it, that has also inflicted much on Kashmiris)....ever since the initial violation of the standstill-agreement (that Pakistan signed with the Maharaja) during partition time.
- If you have not read up on sheikh abdullah's (or who that even is) reaction to what Pakistan did in its own country (East Pakistan) given the evidence accounts of millions (both muslims and hindus) that fled into India for refuge in short span of just weeks and months....it is futile convo to explore further.
His (Abudllah) bargaining power was actually improved by Mrs. Gandhi's failure at securing an actual consequential result with Bhutto at Simla (given the scale of the crimes)....which was merely "trust" based rather than trust+verify....and no further punishment would be meted on the perpetrators and enablers (even those in Indian POW camps that were directly responsible for the crimes were released without any war crimes trial).
- That very psyche did its default role within Pakistan soon after...and has only grown and expanded....and emboldened again....this time propped up with a WMD deterrent (that India stupidly allowed to grow and establish) for its DHA cabal for shielding their large coterie of "non-state actor" snakes....whatever the plebs may suffer.
- Kashmiris in India know their own history quite well. They fully know what the prevalence of separatism is versus non-separatism..and how the former's actioned-increase coincided with the Afghan war with USSR concluding and how there was a direct transfer of terror assets and strategy from its western to eastern border by entity (that claims to work in their interests) that very conveniently coincided with it.
- So nope, Indian Kashmiris at large do not see them as any kind of good-faith or trustworthy actor. One only needs to read up on how operation gibraltar ended...and why there was peace till the late 80s (conclusion of Afghan war) to connect the dots. There was no expulsion and genocide of Kashmir pandits anywhere in the earlier period for a reason.
- Whatever Art 370 has diminished regrettably (IMO, but a topic for us Indians to discuss and no one else's business)...it simply doesnt come anywhere close to justifying in most Kashmiri minds the export of terror...especially given perpetration of a genocide already done (including on muslims) by that same psyche and same establishment (when sufficient political need and angst simply existed for it).
- The Bangladeshi students that come to India (lot of kashmiris also go to BD to study medicine and such) tell them more than enough on why past it too.
- Pakistan can start with recognizing what they did in East Pakistan if they have one iota of basic principle on the human rights matter past that to have any sermon carry the flimsiest amount of weight....given the sheer scale and intensity of what that was....and where it came from in the power-wielder's hearts and mind to order it....and get off inconsequentially too compared to their victims.
- It is not our fault if their country founded itself on religion majoritarian principle (and strengthened the worst of this by the objective resolutions in 1949) and then conducted a kuffar+takfiri-fuelled genocide on a whole half of it because they couldn't stand the result and mandate of an election (and the Bengali that was fairly elected).
- Pakistan's chance to show good faith existed till 1971...it could have been done even after 1965 (since they hadn't state-sanctioned murdered en masse like they would 6 years later)....though 1965 greatly diminished its chance given there was no reason for that war past typical psyche of the khaki cabal.
- All it took was them to withdraw from their occupation and honour the UN Ceasefire agreement's first step as signed....for a referendum and further settlement based on it.
- Anyway they didn't (withdraw as stipulated) and 1971 ended up happening so the ship has long sailed for referendum/parley with partition era principle given what they have done to both dhimmi/kuffar Hindus and also takfiri-basis muslims (of East Pakistan) under their authority and auspice.
- No people or area under the Indian constitution will be up for any kind of transfer or negotiation with this establishment-entity that has shown it's true colours already in the manner it has.
- We are under zero illusion they have changed in the slightest.
- They are always most eager to find every nook and cranny and hole in our armour to remind us.
Its the same establishment that sends terrorists by boat to Bombay to inflict terror even there....while our PM was gentle spoken economist type. All part of reason they have found themselves on the FATF grey list and paid about 40 billion dollars in lost economy for it so far (at least).
- So it has all led to hardening of the resolve against this establishment in a pretty multi-partisan way (though the right wing has actioned it politically and in discourse the most).
- At large, we do not wish ill or bad on regular citizenry (of Pakistan) divested in whatever way, (but especially regular day to day) and unable to influence or pressure them to begin with.
- We only seek to have them constrained as far as possible in the damage they seek to do to us...including restricting access to previous economic buffers.
- There is simply no basic credibility on this matter (for any country) once you have perpetrated a genocide clearly (given the scale of evidence and witness testimony) and refuse to accept it out of the same ego and degeneracy that prompted it in first place.
- No one (true to concept of rational principle and logic) would take a rump Nazi state credibly (if one was allowed to exist in manner that West Pakistan did intact after the war) on good-faith human-rights basis for the same reason....be it whatever X number of years after....especially after they get emboldened to increase their efforts by access to nuclear weapons.
- i.e They do not demonstrate even an intent to move on and improve and reform their approach...so that is why the psyche expressed in 1971 must be continued to be referenced for a basic start to understanding. If they want to learn the expensive (FATF et al) and whatever other ways they feel they can take on (at cost to their people)....so be it.

I think what has happened is the Kashmir Valley [almost all Muslim and which is ground zero for the troubles] they know the possibility of ever joining Pakistan is less than zero. Also along the way many have become disillusioned with Pakistan so vast majority would go for independance or loose confederation.

Step 1 - Article 370
Step 2 - 35A
Step 3 - Isolate problem area
Step 4 - Rejig electoral spectrum to actuals, instead of domination by a smaller area.
Step 5 - Elections restricting problem parties to a smaller geographical area in the Assembly
Step 6 - Majority state government re-interating and ratifying Accession. UN resolution is throwing even further away from where it is.
Step 7 - Parade the constitutional process duely followed. Display and pom pom same in the UN.
Step 8 - Let us now talk about GB and PoK.
Step 1 to Step 4 are now completed. Anybody believing the above is not going to happen is living in fool's paradise.
The time for negotiating any kind of deal was closed the minute Bombay happened. Mirpuris may not like this, but hey these are ground facts. Anyone not liking the same, is welcome to move west.
Believe me it was after 26/11 I literally start despising them . It has far deeper effect on Indians then Kargil. The Pakistanis don't realize the effect 26/11 had. They can kiss any negotiation for anything goodbye.
Yes, I was at a pub called Henry Tham's which was literally 200 meters from the Taj and would probably have gone there. Had also dropped an American friend to Chabad House a few times. Was absolutely nuts.Believe me it was after 26/11 I literally start despising them . It has far deeper effect on Indians then Kargil.
What kind of people kill innocents while waiting for trains on railways station.
Same with me. Although I stayed in navi mumbai, had come to gateway with a friend the very same afternoon...then we went to her place at Colaba and there only we heard the news about attacks in evening. Those 72 hrs were most tensed period of my life. Literally we never switched off our tv for entire period.Yes, I was at a pub called Henry Tham's which was literally 200 meters from the Taj and would probably have gone there. That's when the hyper nationalist narrative of Arnab and his clones also took off unfortunately. I spoke to 2 people close to the attacks - one was a diplomat in the the Israeli Consulate in Bombay. Any Jew irrespective of being an Israeli citizen or not was offered to be evacuated to Israel on a special flight. A friend's dad was one of the senior cops killed. The Israelis were actually shocked at how ill prepared we were. That it took 3 days to get commandos from Delhi. And even they didn't have buses but were transported in municipal buses. He said if it was a major Israeli city, they would have been back in control in 6 hours max.Same with me.
