The Ministry of Defence reaffirms its commitment to modernising primary weapons systems and reinforcing the independence of the national defence industry through its strategic contribution to the KF-21 Boramae fighter development programme.
A key milestone was marked by the successful maiden flight of Colonel Ferrel Rigonald, Indonesian Air Force test pilot, who flew in the front seat of the KF-21 prototype in Sacheon, South Korea, on Friday (27 June). He was accompanied by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) test pilot Koh Hwi Seok during a one-hour test flight at approximately 20,000 feet.
This participation highlights Indonesia’s active role in the 4.5-generation fighter testing phase and reflects a tangible commitment to technology transfer and the development of national defence human resources.
