The Air Force Chief was flanked by two Indonesian Air Force test pilots who were involved in the Boramae development program, namely Colonel Pnb Mohammad Sugiyanto, S.T and Lt. Col. Pnb Ferrell Rigonald, MMOAS. Both have been prepared as test pilots for the KFX/IFX program since 2009. Photo: Dispenau

We should be buying more of these instead of Rafale or F-15s. It makes sense to wait a few years to get a 5th gen fighter that will be relevant for decades to come.

The Rafale and F15 will quickly be come obsolete as more 5th gen fighters are deployed. I do not want to be facing J20s or F35s with Rafales and F15s.

If we're talking about stealth fighter, then go for the true and mature one. Not Boramae.

I think RAM in a stealth fighter is even more irrelevant in the future, there are many technologies being developed to defeat this technology.
Such as IRST which can guide long range BVR missile without having to activate the radar, It can shoot down the stealth fighter from hundreds of kilometers away.

Or multistatic radar formation that is being developed for a jet fighter (DGA is known to be developing this technology for Rafale F5 variant).

The future will be all about electronic warfare.

Don't underestimate the Koreans. Their defence industry is world class. Just look at K2 Black Panther tank and the KSS-III submarine.
They also had help from Lockheed Martin.

I don't understand about one thing, if the problem is we didn't get much ToT from KFX because of US restrictions, why didn't SoKor offer us something else?

Like giving Indonesia production orders for some components perhaps.
