Aaanywaaay, since the hype is on right now, shall we talk about what kind of weapon systems that our air force will also acquire to arm those new jets?

As I recall somewhat vaguely, there was a talk in the MinDef that we will no longer purchase military hardwares with FBNW (and NSFW ) status. If that what we'll get, so I think for Rafale we'll also have MICA IR and EM missiles for AA purpose. Not sure about Meteor although one can only hope.
Then for ground attack, Hammer missiles. Anti ship, Exocet of course. Any other ideas?

For the F-15EX, more AMRAAM and Sidewinders for air to air. We'll gonna need a strike weapon with more range like AGM-158 JASSM although I'm not placing my bets on it. On the other hand, I think the AGM-88 HARM is a safe bet since we'll need something in the same function as the anti radar version of Kh-31.

All in all, I do hope that our officials also seriously considering to acquire more guided munitions. Even something like JDAM kit for our dumb bombs is okay.

LRASM means "happy", you can kill ship and ground target with that. Why buy JASSM when we can get all from LRASM
As I wrote earlier, I'm not placing my bets on JASSM. That also includes LRASM which was developed from it. It's good if it also being offered, but...
the lrasm is like $4 million dollars a pop

no way we're gonna get it lol

(but ill be more than happy to be proven wrong)
^ this is why (although I'm happy to be proven wrong as well).

I think it's a lot more probable to get AGM-84 SLAM-ER instead. Not sure if that one is also capable for anti shipping as the original version.

36 Eagles+36 Rafale's that's the equivalent of having 4 squadron worth of Airplanes, consider that 1 squadron here is in the range of 12-18 jets. we have 2 squadron that are in need of replacement soon, the 1st and 12th (equipped with Hawks), 1 squadron in the 14th to replace the Tigers, then the other 1 squadron could be used to raise another squadron, or even replace some Eastern sourced fighter squadron.

Depending on which neighbors you're asking.
Australia will likely be (for the first time in a long time) happy that it's Northern neighbor got stronger consider that a militarily weak Indonesia will be at the mercy of the new rising Asian giant, so does major ASEAN countries like Singapore,Malaysia, Philippines which we are at good terms at. Don't know about Vietnam consider that we're increasingly at odds over fishing in the Natuna seas. and for China that means a more complicated military environment that they will face if they do misadventures.

IMO, most of ASEAN members will be glad if we strengthen our armed forces since we're dealing with the same potential flashpoint up North. Not that this will lead into an alliance or anything, mind you. But as the largest country in the ASEAN, we're actually understrength and under-equipped even for internal defense purposes.

If it's me I will put them like this:
Rafale 1: pontianak
Rafale 2: biak or el tari
Eagle: iswahyudi

If we really got 1 skadron worth more extra eagle, I'll put it on Makassar replacing flanker.

I think air force have to focus more about how to kill ships now rather than destroy enemy tanks, gun emplacement or fried a group of infantry. So, I think less investment on ground missile and spend more on anti-ship missile is wiser.

Edit : I mean, air to ground missile. Huh, always wrong somewhere if I wrote something long and fast.

Wowow.... Wait. I think we will not doing any preemptive strike on this matter. But, if we are join the "kroyokan" Ya... Runway buster is also needed (maybe). I think US will take care the runway stuff.

Fighter jets could also be an air defence multiplier,
A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet shot down a simulated cruise missile with a rocket, proving that downing cruise missiles isn't a difficult or expensive enterprise—as long as you can find it.

Advanced F-15s are able to carry as much as 24 air-air missile per jets. combine that with the powerful AESA radar as well as advanced processors on board, this could be our answer to cruise missile saturation type attacks on our installations.

Have you forgotten the "multi role" mantra that we used to joke about in the old k*skus?
So if AGM-84H/K missile can be used for both ground targets and ships, then it's a better bang for the buck for us.

On the other hand, it's a shame that the US has not develop supersonic anti-ship missiles until recently so there's still no equivalent of the Kh-31.

I think we're aiming for deterrence effect on par with what the Northern threat fielded on those island but with limited pre-emptive capability. So runway buster may not be chosen unless we're aiming otherwise.
