The modification has already been elaborated by a Pindad official. Official design and picture hasnt been released by Pindad.

It's not part of Pindad Cobra project.

They are part of M3I amphibious pontoon project, used as support vehicle called TCVA Pandur II (Basic Pandur II APC with additional buoyancy kit for improved amphibious performance). Comes straight from Czech's Excalibur Army, not through Pindad.

Kementerian Pertahanan Republik Indonesia menyelenggarakan Rapat Pimpinan Kementerian Pertahanan (Rapim Kemhan) Tahun 2021. Rapim ini dilaksanakan secara virtual dan tetap memperhatikan protokol kesehatan selama dua hari, yaitu pada 11 dan 13 Januari 2021.
Rapim Kemhan Tahun 2021 fokus pada tema 'Kemandirian Pertahanan dan Keamanan yang Kuat Mewujudkan Indonesia Tangguh'. Rapim Kemhan kali ini menyampaikan capaian dan kerja yang telah dilaksanakan oleh Kemhan sebagai refleksi satu tahun kinerja di bidang penyelenggaraan kebijakan pertahanan negara pada kabinet Indonesia Maju.

Juru Bicara Menteri Pertahanan RI Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak mengatakan tema tersebut dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman pertahanan dan keamanan yang kuat akan mampu menangkal berbagai ancaman, gangguan, hambatan dan tantangan (AGHT) dan merupakan salah satu prasyarat tetap tegaknya NKRI serta terselenggaranya pembangunan termasuk di dalamnya perekonomian nasional.


"Kemandirian pertahanan juga berarti kemampuan untuk semaksimal mungkin memenuhi kebutuhan alutsista sendiri, hal ini tentunya dengan menggerakkan industri pertahanan dalam negeri dan berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional," ucap Dahnil dalam keterangan tertulis, Rabu (13/1/2021).
Pada 2020, lanjutnya, Indonesia memasuki tahun pertama dari Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah 2020-2024 yang merupakan bagian dari agenda pembangunan 5 tahunan terakhir dalam rencana pembangunan jangka panjang nasional 2005-2025.
Dalam rangka mendukung rencana kerja pemerintah tahun 2021, tambahnya, UO Kemhan melaksanakan program dan kegiatan terkait dua prioritas nasional yaitu pembangunan manusia dan pengentasan kemiskinan.
"Serta mengenai stabilitas, dan tentu tetap mempertimbangkan lingkungan strategis yang sedang berkembang baik regional maupun global," imbuhnya.

Rapim langsung dipimpin oleh Menteri Pertahanan RI Prabowo Subianto dengan dihadiri para Pejabat Kementerian Pertahanan secara terbatas, dan sebagian mengikuti secara Virtual. Rapim juga dihadiri oleh Para Kepala Staf dan Kasum Mabes TNI serta para Direksi BUMN yang terkait dengan Industri Pertahanan.
Pada akhir Rapim, Prabowo menyerahkan Rantis dan Ranpur Maung produksi Pindad tahap ke-2 yang diperuntukkan bagi operasi TNI di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia. Kendaraan yang diserahkan berjumlah 44 unit terdiri dari 40 unit kendaraan Maung buatan PT Pindad (Persero), 4 unit Kendaraan Armour ILSV Jeforce dan 100 unit sepeda motor.
Kendaraan tersebut kepada Kepala Staf TNI Angkatan Darat Jenderal TNI Andika Perkasa, Kepala Staf TNI Angkatan Udara Marsekal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo dan Kepala Staf TNI Angkatan Laut Laksamana TNI Yudo Margono.

Sebagai informasi, Kementerian Pertahanan saat ini tengah memesan rantis Maung sebanyak 500 unit yang diselesaikan secara bertahap oleh PT Pindad (Persero). Hal merupakan upaya Kementerian Pertahanan dalam mendukung peningkatan produksi alutsista dalam negeri.
"Sesuai yang tercantum dalam UU No 16 tahun 2012 tentang Industri Pertahanan bahwa pengembangan industri pertahanan merupakan bagian terpadu dari perencanaan strategis pengelolaan sumber daya nasional untuk kepentingan pertahanan dan keamanan negara," tandasnya.

Not with that particular Incom model. In fact my current comm arsenal is pretty cluster f*** of mess. I've got things ranging from radios from Motorola, Baofeng, Incom, Kenwood, variety of VSAT, WiFi (long range), WIMAX, to laser. Still haven't managed to standardize comm aspect due to the cost & demand requirement.

Anyway, that particular Incom type is bundled with Iridium service. Unlike any other radios type, anything to do with satellite based comm is always bundled with the satellite service rather than a standalone product. The primary benefit of Iridium service is they are LEO (Low Earth Orbit) based constellation while the primary competitor Inmarsat is GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit) based. Which mean Iridium have far lower latency. And since this is bulk sales package they most likely part of Gov't / Military sales package, which mean additional encryption and channel priority. The encryption is kinda low level, but the channel priority is worth the money,
Anyway, this kind of radio is typically at platoon or company level. And only used to communicate to the higher echelon (which is what the intended design usage)

Don't know, but i suppose they are quite useful at some situation

YES but only if you're buying in bulk. Company such Iridium, Inmarsat do have Gov't / Military inclusive sales package offering, which is also available to anyone (non gov't / military) whose buying in bulk
