did the Air and Navy General didnt have any sentiment about this ?

Since if reffered to rotation scheme, Navy should have got the possition.

It's part of Indonesian politics.

If one of your biggest political backers has someone up there to be nominated, there's no way for him to say no.

But don't get wrong, Oppositions (Demokrat) in Senayan also has good sentiments made for this guy. This man is very lucky to be supported by the both sides.

*I'm talking about those who active in politik praktis (senayan). The grassroots maybe different.

Still nothing. The start is when the trending is only filled by people like that.

Talk about the UU, I don't think that man-made Quran is make the rotation of AD-AU-AL as compulsory, more kind of like sunnah.
The law itself stated 'dapat dijabat secara bergantian' not 'harus dijabat secara bergantian'

2022 maybe
If president choose from Navy, there will be 2 years of service before retirement, but if president choose from Army, only 1 years of service remaining. Unless, there is also change in military retirement age from 58 years to 60 years. This is another rumor following the appointment of Gen. Andika. By this, he can be in service as a Chief of Staff for at least 3 years.

This could be another possibility. but, if its true, it'll be a big blunder to Mr. President. Treat the Military Chief of Staff position as a stepping stone for someone's political career in this geopolitical situation is really dumb ass. I don't think this is the plot for AP in the near future. There are more opportunities for him in future political chess game if he can prove successfully lead the military in these 3 years period.
