why bother with exocet when we can have a better one such as the NSM?

Waitt, we could buy it?

Who said we couldn't ?? It's the price tag that deter us for so long ...

We'll probably buy a lot of Atmaca so our Turkish friends will (hopefully) offer us some production license or ToT.

How about welcome CSIC 🇨🇳 :p that's one is very experienced at building Submarine at large number too

They will probably give us 10 subs for the price of 4 Scorpenes.

Btw, who's gonna be the sales representatives? Angelababy, Fan Bingbing, or Dilraba Dilmurat?

Hope they bring Dilraba because it had Halal tag behind it.

The news said if the UAV has been installed a camere, what kind of camera isnt further explained.

I hope they could install FLIR, the downside is they need to rework some parts to mount an effective FLIR device.

Expect the appearance of KRI Gajah Mada, KRI Siliwangi, KRI Brawijaya, KRI Airlangga, KRI Hayam Wuruk, KRI Kertanegara and such

Its depends on what designation The Navy want for IH or FREMM ?
Perusak Kawal Rudal (Excort Destroyer Missile ??)

for all of the time, the navy still building their posture around Excorta fleet, not even near battle group.

riachuelo vs type 216 ? will be fun to watch
*if

Type 216 is only concept, proposed for Aussies procurements, meanwhile Type 218 is further far mor advanced development of type 214.

What we can do is waiting, the winner is always one who "menyalip" at the last turn.

Only if we can and land it here, but sub capable launched missile is one of the navy want long time ago.

*sigh* another prototype. The whole "dibangun dengan rahasia" also extremely dubious in nature.

IF we truly want for cheap & capable UAS, we should procure commercial / industrial system under gov't / military sales package, that way we get a lot of leverage for platform customization and hopefully could learn few things on the technical side along the way.

This commercial UAS is very capable one

But if they build it on Navy "bengkel" with secret order they can bought Chinese Made components and charge them premium

Anyway could u216 armed with exocet?
And WHY would the 🇩🇪 Navy boat loaded with 🇫🇷 weapon when they themselves already have IDAS missile❓And beside what there is little point of having sub launch AShM anyway. The primary role of a submarine is to sunk enemy ships by poring water in, NOT to punch a hole on them.

what you say here doesn't make sense. both torpedo and ashm are capable to sink a ship. you do realize that most torpedo has effective range less than 50km right? meanwhile an ashm can be three times or more of that.

Effective range is IRRELEVANT in this matter

FLIR is a brand. There are others OEM thermal imager supplier. As for the gimbal mounting, there are plenty of suppliers that provide customize gimbal mounting. Obviously it's a very expensive path to take compare to procure ready-made commercial / industrial system such as the one I've posted above

Unless they are trying to sold their design to be mass produced by company who specialized in UAV production and mass produced them with Chinese Made imported components. Chinese optic, Chinese gymbal, Chinese Made engine, Chinese Made tyre, Chinese made circuit board, Chinese Made antena guidance ....

Btw why they don't put their input and joint resource with the already established system like PUNA Wulung from PT DI and BPPT to improve the design more, Wulung already more mature and being operational for years and had decent command control system.

sub launched variants of exocet are not that great in terms of range , the real deal should be MdCN NCM.
