Apart from the obvious like Gundam, err, Mogami-chan, and probably Patlabor, I mean Soryu-chan, I wonder what else is in the pipeline for our local defense industries. Although they may still just talk for the time being, but I do hope that there are still a lot more to come as the result of this meeting.
Their metal work were awesome . So expect another batch of artillery barrel related stuff.....

🤔😱

They sure knew how to make big guns back then. It's too bad for them that the big ass ones up there never had a chance to prove their worth.

Reminds me that one of my most detailed model kits I had in my teenage years was a Yamato battleship from Tamiya. It was only 1:700 scale, but oh boy I still remember I had a total blast (and a lot of headaches) assembling that thing.

[Put Yamato museum at Kure in the list of places in Japan that I want to go to someday] 😋

Yeah assembling battleship mokit in 1/700 is pain in the ass, u know how many secondary guns, and the small part on yamato bridge. Roma battleship class is much easier to assembly.

Well , not in that sense .....but , yeah their metallurgy field was mature and thriving . Take a small example ...
When people in the metal working community were asked the what is most preferred choice for a boring tool . Nachi's brand was rhe benchmark for all other brands ...
So , expect another metal working related to be had or expanded further...
If we could somehow in the future trying to make our own self propelled Howitzer/autocanon . Choosing between korean , germany , checz and japanese as a suplier would be a tough choice to make ...

PT PAL officially denied media news that they will be launching submarine and warship on November 10th 2021. The media misquoted the PT PAL CEO. PT PAL actually will be launching a program called Maritime Industry Transformation 4.0 on November 10th 2021.

At the end of 2021, PT PAL will launch warships and submarines, check the facts

(Surabaya, 18 August 2021) An online news headline on the IDX Channel with the headline PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) will launch warships and submarines at the end of 2021. In the article, at the beginning it was explained that "PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) is currently producing warships and submarines. The plan is that the ship will be inaugurated or launched on November 10, 2021." The quote from the sentence can be ascertained to contain information that cannot be accounted for. The article published by the IDX Channel allegedly quoted the speech of the CEO of PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) during the working visit of the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in incomplete.

During a working visit by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, the CEO of PT PAL Indonesia (Persero), Mr. Kaharuddin Djenod said that "PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) is preparing for the transformation of the maritime industry 4.0, and it is targeted that 70% of all preparations will be completed marked by the launching activity on December November 10, 2021". With the maritime industry 4.0 transformation program, it is hoped that in the future PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) can make every production process more efficient and effective and increase production capabilities and capacity. On the same occasion, the CEO of PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) Mr. Kaharuddin Djenod is optimistic that with the launch of Maritime Industry Transformation 4.0, PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) will be able to increase the production capability of domestic frigate-class ships.

Ah, the (sadly much too often) case of some Indonesian journalists creating stories out of their asses especially when it comes to defense news.

Pray to God I will never be like them. Ever.

It's probably just a matter of time when someone publishes this kind of story with a clickbait title:

"KAPAL PERANG RUDAL BOMBER CANGGIH INDONESIA BIKIN TNI AMERIKA CINA KETAR-KETIR" that actually about our KRI Irian, Tu-16 and their Komet missiles in the 60's.

Don't know where the media even came up with news about the submarine launching as the PT PAL CEO only mentioned about frigate.

Must be caused by: "currently we are still in joint production stage (actually PAL current capability, not in the process of joint section per se) and working for whole local prodution in the future." This is where everything goes wrong.

And because our media republish each other without additional research, thing spiraled out of control and everybody think that we are currently building a submarine, people that try to verify using google will see a lot of result saying that we are building a submarine, can't even find video or transcript about the interview. For us we can only use information that we have, because we are following these kind of stuff.

Pardun???

And now there is these confusion about OPV size,

If it's about recent news from PT DRU, I'm still a bit confused. Although it's thanks to @Madokafc who cleared that both ships are of the same length - and probably based on the same design as well - I still have no clear idea why they had to differentiate between OPV 90 and plain OPV?
