Dont say they will give us this type 23
Actually i dont mind it if they keep the SAM fully armedgive us this type 23
And why they so insisted to visit and sign contract aboard Type 23 ?Dont say they will give us this type 23
Nah, I believe what he meant was the irony.Dont say they will give us this type 23
No, better stick with new procurement vessels. And why they so insisted to visit and sign contract aboard Type 23 ?
Its a sales time, for make £ from unused stuff.
(FOR GOD DAMN SAKE, WE NEED THAT AND C 130 also)
Ofcourse, its interim program aside from the new one. Like when the brit trying to sell their typ 31 to hellenic navy, they add the frigate as stop gap solutionNo, better stick with new procurement vessels.

No, better stick with new procurement vessels.
Look like this one here didnt even swallow what the immediate need(interim program), FY defence budget, even MEF.No, better stick with new procurement vessels.
Well, it's probably safe to say that our navy's top brass have some cool sense of humor with a dash of irony.
Type 23 role is ASW but the engine sound it self already exposed far before it can detect a submarine.Well, it's probably safe to say that our navy's top brass have some cool sense of humor with a dash of irony.
Not that I'm againts it though. So, carry on!
Well, no one from their side said will providing this vessel with full package.Look like this one here didnt even swallow what the immediate need(interim program), FY defence budget, even MEF.
As @Madokafc said. Fully armed Type 23 still pack a punch compared to all existed IDNavy Frigates.
Yet you still insisted 6 years long process can be done tommorow morning. You should re check why FREMM deal with packed with 2 Maestrale class. Yes, for dire need of fregates.
ErrType 23 role is ASW but the engine sound it self already exposed far before it can detect a submarine.
But, yes. They have weird sense of humor regarding effectiveness and maintenance cost
No matter how good your engine is, the old hull structure will never lie. It will expose not only the vibrations but the engine sound also. We want "spotter" not "spotted" and then join the spongebobErr
They are using CODLAG type propulsion and was very quiet at that, carry long towed array sonar, had sting ray equipped Merlin ASW.... and i stand by my opinion before this guy is very much capable in today Navy standard even compared to Martadinata class in ASW operation. The reason why Britain is trying to retire them early as they want to induct much more larger, more complex and expensive type 26 class
Atleast Type 23 is younger than Maestrale classNo matter how good your engine is, the old hull structure will never lie
"It claimed that two Type 093 nuclear-powered attack submarines of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy were located by anti-submarine sonar operators aboard the HMS Kent and HMS Richmond frigates, (both type 23)""spotter"
I think you didnt even know what i said before. As retire ship, if really want to sell Type 23 to , they need some adjustment to fuffil Navy spec. Same thing happend on Maestrale for .Well, no one from their side said will providing this vessel with full package.
And futher survey need to be done to know this vessel worthiness. After that we need to refit and update all necessary thing. After that trial and bla bla. Let say at least 1 year.
We will not get the harpon. Thats mean we need to look another anti ship missile, installation, test, bla bla and thats mean another delay.

Not enough proof for you? Lol, how in earth hunter hide from its prey.

1 year is considered quick for delivery and system installation compared to wait 2-3 years for FFBNW Hull, Yet the sea trials.
Even PAL 2 Vrygates need 69 months to complete and you still insist "B3tTaH St!CcK w1tH N3w Fessel". The incursion no need that long to push and pull in water. at desperate need of new boats, either for patrol or defence matter.
Bla bla just stick with Parchim (more than forty years old) and Van Speijk (at least sixty years old) then until the next six to decade ahead when AH 140 and FREMM starting to get online and reach operational status, with the risk to be capsized and outgunned by the opponent. Even the Fatahillah class is already fifty years old now ....
