If the MoD decided to buy fighter jet that can only do maritime strike mission then I agree with the idea of buying land based AShM instead because its cheaper.

Out of curiosity, how many exocet Rafale could actually equip???
Kinda confused since some source said 2 missiles, while other said only 1...
And how it compared to for example F-18E/F or Mig-29???
F/A-18 E/F :

Rafale :

Depens on condition, perhaps 4 can be carried from landbased runway
As for Mig 29 or Su 30, they can carry one.

Air power is great but it is also expensive just like navy ships are expensive.
Air forces are cheaper and could delivers more than a surface navy. A single SIGMA could buy you up to 173 JASSM cruise missile or 146 Harpoons.

If you just need to defend then land based anti-ship missiles work fine as an area denial strategy and are much cheaper to deploy in large numbers.
The limited mobility of shore based installations meant that your enemy has the luxury of choosing when and where to fight.
Ukraine sunk a Russian Cruiser a few months ago with just two modernized versions of soviet anti-ship missiles. Russian ships now stay far away from the Ukrainian coast because of the fear of Ukrainian anti-ship missiles.
Oh come on, don't ever assume our foe are dumb enough to do the same mistake just because Russia is horrible with their navies.
Ukraine is a poor country with a very small airforce and no navy to speak of yet it has been able to keep the Russian navy at bay.
Now ask yourself, does Ukraine somewhat just magically found the Moskva out of the hundreds of ships in the Black sea ?

Most likely they position of Moskva has been identified by US surveillance planes hovering above the Black sea prior to the sinking. Again air power plays a crucial role here.

Moskva is an accumulation of bad planning, hubris and Ukraine's allies effective use of air power.

A single Rafale cost around 100 million euroes. So a single SIGMA could buy you maybe 4 Rafales.

Btw, this is probably cheaper solution.

$250,000 price tag per USV that the website says includes a ground-based, autonomous control station, a transportation and storage system, and a data processing center.

Yes, and unlike a SIGMA, a fighter jet could detect first, fires its payload, RTB and do the same thing over and over again.

By the time the SIGMA came the party is over.

Warships has its own role, but ship killing should not be its primary rile. There are reasons why corvette and frigate are called escorts. 8 AShM per ship is enough, used the limited real estate for AAW and ASW role.

Also.

Why did Indonesia need OPV in frist place ? With 90m it was close enough with Sigma 91m size or BTM class Corvette

Easier and cheaper to operate maybe?
No anti submarine capability mean less system to maintain.

Any information about its sea endurance?

Can't agree more.

One of the reasons why I'm not a fan of putting brahmos on AH140. Beside it's too much of a Frankenstein, the most effective way to kill big surface platform is air power.

If they really want Brahmos then just buy the land based one and put them on our choke points (Or air launched from Rafale is okay too)

For now only Sukhois has AShM. F16 doesnt have harpoon. For the upcoming Rafale with exocet and maybe mirage 2000 could do the same.

F16 fitted with targeting pod and Armed with JDAM can threaten the enemy warships.

Btw

Indonesian Navy OPV 90 SPECS is already good so far, even compared to some Corvette in the region they are already got some edge. If they got SMART series radar or equivalent, equipped with some point'defense type missiles it would be good
