He is talking about new procurement which after today will definitely got canceled.

But how about our current fleet?
Could they keep running?
Engine ? We can ask caterpillar or cummins

Track & suspension ? We can made ourself

Turret & gun ? Lets ask if CT CV 3105 turret can be installed

PT 76 is one of many example keeping non aftersales support machine running.

As long as it is land vehicles, there is almost no problem for modification and refit with our current standard of industrial engineering prowess. Even when talking about MBT we can do heavy maintenance on the subsystem and engines repairing.

KSAL Ensures Western Sanctions Don't Affect the Operations of the Russian-made Navy Alutsista

On the other hand, Yudo said, his party did not know for sure about the fate of using Russian Navy spare parts in the future, even though operationally they were still used.

"As for the spare parts, we don't know yet because the Ministry of Defense will handle it later. We will continue to use it operationally," he added.

If it's only 2, I doubt that in the long term we gonna get any significant ToT from the French.
It will be build locally, that's significant ToT. I wonder if we will try to get permission to tweak scorpene design and have our own scorpene variant that can be offered to other country in the future.
I believe 2 unit is for the first order, and there will be repeat order later.

Build locally they said, but how much work share PT PAL will get to build locally anyway? Come on, did you forget our Changbogo class submarines and those Dutch built warships also said as locally built karya anak bangsa by PT PAL.

I won't be surprised if all work share PT PAL will get is just welding the joint section and all the blocks will be build in other countries, just like usual.
This is what comes to mind if we are to reject further order of CBG. We start all over again (not from zero tho).

The same would apply if we backs away from KFX/IFX. If we abandon the project, when will we start similar project? 2030? 2040? 1 year before the end of the world? There is no guarantee that if we abandon the project, we would start replacement project at all.

The people who suggest we backs away from projects, they don't have long-term vision. They think an alutsista can be made with sim salabim abrakadraba like esemka car without the need of RnD and testing. Buying proven alutsista is a must, but don't forget about the development we made ourselves.
