Well, according to Naval Group, those Scorpènes are a follow on order from TNI-AL seperate from Nagapasa batch 2 deal, but what exactly is true is hard to be told atm.

In case those Scorpènes are actually replacing Nagapasa batch 2 ships, then I could say one thing for sure, that they should stop bitching about AUKUS lol
Anything below $100 million is not quite a loss for a company with $billion grade civilian & defense orders. They can easily compensate for that, use those components on next orders (DSME1400 fulfills the sweet spot Type 209-1200 had years ago).

Koreans usually do not do something like this and they are very keen on agreements, legal works, ie. not moving a finger withour procedures being fulfilled. What made them do such a move this time? There wasn't even a finalized contract. I can see they made this to lower costs on production by scheduling and occupying the line as short as possible.. but yeah whatever.

They've mentioned that it was in order to meet the delivery deadlines and continues, saying such practice is common for said reason. Though I'm not able to judge if it is a right practice.

When foreign observers highlighted our archipelagic condition......do they realize how big our main islands are? (Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java, Papua, etc)?

I mean, Sumatra alone is bigger than most countries in Europe which also operate MBT
Well, i think most people will see Indonesia to be small in nowhere country just because they reffered to all known not so acxurate world Map.

As you can see, Andalas Island is around 470K m² in land mass, as big as Sweden land mass tho wich around 450K+ m².
Hence, there not so much Vast field in Indonesia, thus make jugle environtment isn't so much suited in tank warfare in Borneo or Andalas.

The main fucntion of MBT in Indonesia IMHO to act as counter in Urban warfare (sadly we lack of it) and to defend some critical poitn (pangkalan).

No i don't think so. Its just the angle of the pic. Its some kind of control room like the one in this KRI Bontang pic.

It's called RAS control room, to operate the rigs and winch during refueling operation. On other AOR ship, rig and winch operation sometimes could be done/separated into multiple station, on KRI Bontang however, those two function seems to be combined into a single room/station.
