Indonesia has awarded local defence company PT Republik Defensindo the contract to procure an initial batch of Atmaca anti-ship guided missiles from Turkey, Janes has been informed by multiple sources close to the matter.

This contract, which covers the procurement of 45 missile rounds and associated launcher units and user terminals, paves the way for the Indonesian Navy to be the first export customer of the Turkish-developed guided weapon.

So from this number, we can roughly estimate how many refurbished ships will be armed with Atmaca.

Let's say that 8 Atmacas have already been allocated for the Merah Putih frigate (with 4x2 launchers configuration). Then the remaining missiles can only be fitted to between 4 (with the same launcher configuration as the MP frigate) to 9 refurbished ships (2x2 - if there's anything like this configuration).

It's going to be a multi year contract iirc

I think bit by bit OPV-90 and Bung Karno class will replace the Parchims. The PC-40/60 program looks like a huge success and repeat orders keep coming after the initial order. I'm expecting the same for the former.

Maybe TNI AL are experimenting with the new corvette for potential replacement for parchim. If its not that bad maybe they will order again (even if its just 1 unit) with more improvements and more features and capabilities for every new build.
Hopefully when the design is mature enough and have sufficient capability for ASW, ASuW and decent air defence(CIWS/SAM) TNI AL will order in large number.

If the OPV 90 is "mangkrak", this will repeat the history of LST case, someone in the Mindef should go to jail, and reform the mindef coz there are huge budget they're maintain and it is vulnerable to be misused or corrupt
The company should be held accountable, i mean there is contract for that and failing it then the company must pay penalties, if failed and not paying penalties then give it to the police.
They already got the money and we got nothing, RUGI DONG!!!

Wonder if it will be for the R41 programme or FMP.

If it will be the same config as rumored before
16 Launchers each ship.

Here are the key points from the podcast by the CEO of PT PAL with TirtoID:

📌 Renegotiation of DSME 209/1400 (Batch 2) has entered the final stage.
📌 The construction progress of Merah Putih Frigate (FMP) has completed 23 blocks out of a total of 160 blocks.
📌 The combat system for FMP is still awaiting the best offer from a vendor.
📌 Indonesia is currently in the negotiation stage for an aircraft carrier project (possibly of the LHD type).

I think TNI-AL is taking inspiration from how the PLAN did with its procurements. Start with small purchase, run the ships, find bugs and do fix, then bulk order.

The highly successful Type 054A and future 054B come from tye Type 054 of which only two hulls are produced. While the Type 052D comes from multiple Chinese refinement of the Type 052, 052B, 051C and 052C each of which comes in a batch of 2-6 ships only

The final say is from the Ministry Of Defence right? Same like PTDI recommendation for the Eurofighter Typhoon to TNI-AU.
Not just a recommendation, the CEO of PT PAL clearly said that the second batch of Changbogo negotiations had entered the final stage, does it make sense for him to spread fake news?

Well i was just trying to say that there is no guarantee even if they reach a deal. The final say would be the MoD. Eurofighter and PTDI can have any deal they want but the final say is from the MoD. And its not Typhoon. Same goes with the 2nd Changbogo submarine deal.

I am really confused with our submarine program.

As for Nagapasa batch 2, i am not opposing it.
