Really hope the Marine corps can be a separate branch from the Navy, and operated their own Aircraft, helicopters, airlift aircraft, beside their usual traditional Amphibious assault vehicles, artillery, and MLRS.
Not in near future perhaps.

@Ravager has a point, the money also not melting as fast as polar ice at spring.
You know, having marine like have nsvy, army, cavalry, and air defence at once.

Marine is best to operate as part & alongside the Navy. And as I recall, the only country that has the Marine as a separate service branch is USMC. And even that is due to their own specific history rather than something that was born out of organizational necessity.

Not necessary a submarine launched torpedo, but light torp.
For ship n aircraft op.
Submarine launched torpedo is much easier to develop, compared to a light weight torpedo (for the initial stage).
Nobody cares how big and how heavy is the HWT as long as it fits to the tube, pretty large volume to work for engineers and launched via flooding the tube thus again relatively easier for the initial tests.
