Murat Çizgel's statements about YETEN.

"In our projects, the product (subcomponent-nationalised products) library is now included in the main contract text and it is obligatory to use the ones in the library of this product. This app was launched in 2020. There are 4,444 products in YETEN(Yetenek Envanteri). In YETEN, there will be an annex to the contracts as an electronic library for the products entered by the companies. If the main project has these products in the configuration breakdown, the institution that runs the project has to use it. There are only four justifications for the conditions of non-use: Misrepresentation, the company's bankruptcy, the product not being in the stated specification, and the price. If it is a strategic product, it must be used regardless of the price. Even if it is not strategic, the main contractor may not use it only if it proves to be more expensive domestically. The main contractor has to prove that it is 25 percent more expensive than the price it receives from abroad, including freight customs fees. This rate was 15 percent, we increased it to 25. Apart from these, the main contractor now has to use domestic. We are trying to prevent an escape of around 40 to 50 percent from here. But what we are trying to do is the qualified product list. The contract reads: "Used from Turkey's qualified product list." We have commissioned our TRtest company for this, the procedure is being written. He is procedurally qualified by the SSB. From now on in their contracts, it will be written, “If there is a product on the qualified product list, you cannot use a product other than it without any justification”. The product library started and continues. There may be leaks in the product list, but there will be no leaks in the qualified product list. This is the exact equivalent of what the Americans call the Qualified Products Database (QPL), it is the Turkish QPL."

China has the most,Australia,Brazil,India,South-Africa,Tanzania,Greenland and the US have some.
Never heard of us having them,which makes me wonder why a facilty to ''produce'' rare earth elements?

Yes, we have rare earth element deposits. Malatya-Kuluncak , Sivas-Karaçayır and Eskişehir-Sivrihisar rare earth element deposits are confirmed. There are also several other prospect zones.

Eskişehir-Sivrihisar and Malatya-Kuluncak deposits are very rich and might make us a big player in the rare earth elements game.

Minister Dönmez said, “Especially in the Eskişehir Sivrihisar region, the complex bed containing fluorite, barite, uranium and thorium is currently known as the most important REE resource with 30 million tons according to MTA data. With the exploration activities carried out in recent years, a new bed has been unearthed in Malatya Kuluncak region. We have determined that 13 different REEs exist in our country.”

Dönmez emphasized the importance of the success achieved in the REE laboratory in his written statement. “A first in our country has been achieved with a study carried out in only 2 years with a team consisting of expert personnel in ore enrichment, metallurgy, chemistry and analysis. With the study, cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, paraseodmium, uranium, thorium and Heavy Rare Earth Oxides (ANTO) with a purity above 99 percent were recovered at the laboratory scale.

"With the study, REE with a purity of more than 99 percent was obtained at the laboratory scale. Now, after this study, which reveals national know-how, we aim to establish a pilot or industrial scale facility under the coordination of our ministry.

Prior to decomposing REE, the revenue was low, but when you decompose it, its value is much greater. For example, when you purify above 99 percent, you can sell a tonne for 200 thousand dollars, but if you sell it without separation, you sell it for as low as 1 dollar. There are many materials used in our daily life in REE. REE is also used in missile launchers, MR devices, automotive industry, digital cameras, mobile phones and night vision cameras in the defense industry. In fact, NTE will be used in our domestic automobile. As Turkey, we are now producing end products. We will now generate revenues of up to $200,000 per ton.”

MTA General Manager Assoc. Dr. Yasin Erdogan: "As of May 2021, we have discovered 22 thousand tons of uranium reserves. Recently, a total of 24 thousand tons of uranium reserves have been discovered and Turkey's total reserves have been increased to 32 thousand tons"

In Malatya-Kuluncak, 128.314,000 tons of rare earth elements with a grade of 1829 ppm, and 6.000.000 tons of rare earth elements with a grade of 1420 ppm in Sivas-Karaçayır were detected. Again, in the last period, 294.32 tons of gold reserves have been discovered in all parts of the country.

From the MTA 2020 annual report
"Reserves have been discovered in Malatya-Kuluncak field, which contains heavy rare and light rare elements, zinc, nickel, arsenic, rubidium, tantalum, beryllium, lithium, gallium, barium, strontium, cesium elements in our country.
First of all, Rare Earth Elements, then Rubidium and finally Niobium enrichment from the remaining solid phase were carried out from Malatya-Kuluncak ore." pages 89 and 127

“A FIRST IN OUR COUNTRY”, Cerium, Lanthanum, Neodymium/Paraceodmium, Uranium, Thorium and Heavy Rare Earth Oxides (ANTO) have been recovered with over 99% purity on a laboratory scale. (These are the news from last year)

Erbium (Lasers are used in vanadium steel)
Ytterbium (Infrared laser, chemical reducers)
Holmium (Lasers)
Terbium (Phosphorus, lasers, fluorescent lamps)
Thulium (Portable X-ray machine)
Gadolinium (Computer memories, magnets, lasers)
Lutetium (PET scanning detectors, high refractive index glasses)
It was purified to 95.4%. Nitrogenous environment was provided by re-dissolving and 99% purity Cerium dioxide(Cerium oxide (CeO2) is one of the preferred buffer layers for the fabrication of superconductors, especially for YBa2Cu3O7 (YBCO) processing.) was developed.

lanthanum oxide (99.94%) purity, neodymium-praseodymium oxide was obtained with a purity of 99.10%. (page 129)

You can also see where these rare elements are used specifically on page 8 here. Guidance systems and superconductors were the most notable.

Another question .. does turkish coasts have black sand reserve ?
