Production facility opened for Graphene production
NANOGRAFI Co. Inc. was established in 2011 as a Nanotechnology start-up in order to produce critical nanomaterials such as Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) and Graphene and create a market on these materials. After the successful production of various types of CNTs, we began to study on the applications of different nanomaterials including nanotubes, metal oxides, carbides, clay nanoparticles. As a result of these research and production efforts, we released a wide variety of products to the local market on the second half of 2014.

In 2015, there’s been a rise on the demands of the local market and we began to develop new applications of nanomaterials according to customer demands ranging from new generation lightweight construction materials to high performance composites for aeroplanes. Simultaneously, wonder material ‘Graphene’ and Graphene related products were released to the market.

So far, we have made a lot of efforts to increase our product diversity and reliability through extensive R&D works, new collaborators from respected universities and new supplier contracts with worldwide-known corporations. Increasing interest on Nanotechnology products in the world led us to a new decision about the future plans of NANOGRAFI. Finally, in the first half of 2016, our wide-range of products and services have become available to the CUSTOMERS WORLDWIDE.

New NANOTECH products and recent advances from our NGI-Lab are available in our website.

Our turn in technology has come A Miraculous Material Produced From Boron That Will Revolutionize The World Borofen produced from boron mineral; It will replace graphene in many uses, from superfast quantum computers to batteries, from transistors to touch screens.

Borophene is a stronger and more flexible material than graphene, which is considered to be the best conductor of heat and electricity and is 200 times stronger than steel. Electrochemists think borophene could be the anode material in stronger lithium-ion batteries.

Are you saying we should be like the Wakandan's and keep all the Vibranium to ourselves ?

LOL

Something like that... :)

What we do is exporting the material, if we can use it in things like electronic it will be more worth.

I am just saying...

Future projects in science and technology were discussed at Aselsan Academy - Boğaziçi University Technology Workshop

Speaking at the opening of the ASELSAN Academy & Boğaziçi University Technology Workshop, which was held online on April 15-16, Boğaziçi University Rector Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu stated that they are always ready for new cooperation with Aselsan. Aselsan Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün emphasized that they are following the studies in particle physics and biomedical fields that are continuing at the university with interest and said that the partnerships that will be established can create great added values.

The Aselsan Academy-Boğaziçi University Technology Workshop was held online on April 15-16. The workshop discussed ways to build sustainable business associations between Aselsan and Boğaziçi. During the event, presentations were made in the fields of Basic Sciences, Engineering and biomedical, where Boğaziçi University also stands out scientifically. Aselsan experts and Bosphorus scientists exchanged ideas, as well as new research and development collaborations that could be established. Presentations on projects in the fields of satellite-space, particle physics, communication and information technologies were held at the sessions of the workshop on April 15. At the workshop, which ended on April 16, scientists introduced research on cancer diagnosis and treatment, advanced imaging technologies, biomaterials and supercapacitors at Boğaziçi University.

“WE ARE READY TO GIVE ALL THE SUPPORT WE CAN”

Boğaziçi University Rector Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu emphasized the importance of juxtaposing Boğaziçi University with Aselsan, one of the strongest domestic brands in Turkey. Aselsan's current work in the Bosphorus is valuable to follow and take into account the Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu continued his words:

“I think the cooperation between Aselsan and Boğaziçi University is very important. At first, our Vice-Chancellor, who is responsible for the research, is a professor Dr. Our Rectorate, including Gürkan Selçuk Kumbaroğlu, aspires to support Aselsan and support in solving the problems of Aselsan, which competes one-on-one with the world. The workshop is a concrete indicator of this step. After the meetings, I think that identifying representatives from ASELSAN Academy and Boğaziçi University and following the process at a high level will make it easier to get certain results. In the later stages, we would like to bring together Aselsan's technical team and our teachers in the Bosphorus. In this way, we can bring these two distinguished institutions closer in terms of cooperation. I wish that all the work that we will carry out with ASELSAN Academy will have the best results.”

“WE EXPECT COOPERATION TO CREATE ADDED VALUE”

Aselsan Chairman and General Manager Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün expressed his excitement for the planned cooperation with Boğaziçi University, which is among the elite higher education institutions with its 150 years of research performance. Boğaziçi graduates have signed important jobs in different units of Aselsan, added Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün continued his speech as follows:

"We are aware that Boğaziçi University has carried out important research in many areas. We are following recent studies in the field of biomedical and particle physics that have been carried out in the Bosphorus and have attracted attention. We consider it important that the Bosphorus is part of the European University ‘NeurotechEU’. We know their contribution to CERN's work and hope that their success in this field will increase. We expect Aselsan, which brings different dimensions to university-industry cooperation, to create added value in the Bosphorus. ASELSAN; an institution that has managed to collaborate with our faculty members at universities on research issues that come from within, and combine the work of academics in leading qualifications with the sector. As ASELSAN, our R & D budget is 541 million dollars. In such workshops, we strive for one-on-one meetings of Aselsan professionals with university academics. In this way, we are mutually trying to bring the technologies that stand out in the world to our country.”

“RESEARCH STANDS OUT FOR ITS QUALITY”

Boğaziçi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gurkan Kumbaroglu also gave information about the research and development power of the Bosphorus and the projects that have taken place. Boğaziçi is involved in many major national and international projects. Dr. Kumbaroglu spoke in his presentation using infographics:

"Boğaziçi, from the point of view of research universities, is among the leading in Turkey. We are the second highest university in Turkey in the number of supported R & D projects. European Union (EU) projects, in which many large international institutions participate under the Framework Program of national and Horizon 2020, such as TUBITAK, and our giant projects with strong budgets within the framework of the European Union – Turkey financial cooperation, continue. Boğaziçi also stands out with its quality publications. We see Bogazici's name in the top three in the number of publications in the 10 percent publication tranche that receives the most citations. In our 32 research centers and laboratories that continue their activities, there are very important returns in research in different areas.”

"FOCUS ON BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CULTURE TOGETHER”

Aselsan Deputy General Manager Prof. Dr. Mehmet Celik also conveyed to the audience the innovation strategies implemented by Aselsan in the short, medium and long term. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Celik, T.C. Presidential science, technology and innovation policies in Turkey is analyzed by the board by explaining that among these 27 onceliklendirdig technological fields of Technology, Information Security, broadband engine technologies, data analytics, biotechnology, medicine, energy storage, and Block Chain Technologies came to the fore stated. 27 Turkey's 11th development plan are to be included in this technology in the coming period will be allocated the most resources and is selected as subjects of study that adds Mehmet Çelik, institutional innovation studies stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and active participation of all stakeholders, internal and external. Finally, Mehmet Celik listed the issues that should be addressed in industrial cooperation with research universities in Turkey as Focus, project-based work culture, flexible education system, cooperation and co-development culture.

"SPACE WEATHER SHOULD BE CONSIDERED IN THE NATIONAL SPACE PROGRAM”

At the workshop, Aselsan experts, as well as scientists from Boğaziçi University, who carry out projects that attract attention around the world in Physics, Mathematics and various engineering fields, also gave information about their work.

Professor Of Physics, Boğaziçi University Dr. Nihal Ercan pointed out the importance of taking into account “space weather”in the National Space Program, which was put forward together with the National Agency of Turkey. Prof. Dr. Ercan, " Turkey Space Agency through the National Space Program was put forward. But here we need to talk about space weather. Although I do not work in this field, Yildiz Technical and our friends at Çanakkale 18 March universities continue their research. If we're going to launch a satellite, we have to consider space weather. We can make it look like this. For high-speed rail tracks that you will install in a place that gets cold and a lot of snow, you need to consider Meteorological and thermodynamic conditions. If you lay the rails accordingly. This is also true in space weather, when sending any vehicle, you should know the conditions where space is close to the ground. Japan's Hitomi satellite was only able to remain in orbit for 15 days due to engineering errors and deficiencies in the material used. This, in turn, caused huge financial difficulties. For this reason, it is very important that Turkey take into account the space weather programs that it will make in space,” he said.

On the first day of the Aselsan Academy-Boğaziçi University Technology Workshop, Prof.Dr. Erkcan Özcan, Assoc. Dr. Şebnem Özüpek, Assoc. Dr. Murat Celik and Dr. Many scientists, including Kemal Ozupek, made presentations about research projects, and on the second day of the workshop, the work carried out at Boğaziçi University was given a wide place.

That is simply not possible. If you have a real research paper rather than an anonymous post in social media, i would gladly read.
They are talking about intrinsic material properties such as yield and tensile strength of a single atomic layer of the material.

Steel has ~500MPa tensile strength while graphene/borophene has >100 000MPa, i.e. more than 200 times of steel.
Check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_tensile_strength.
You can also check any undergraduate text in material studies or google tensile strength.

However, you can not build bulk objects like a chairs from a single atomic layer of graphene (=coal) or borophene.
As you know, the hardest macroscopic material from carbon is diamond which is "only" 5-10 harder than steel so the bulk strength goes down when we talk about macroscopic objects but atomic layers are still interesting as coating for moving parts. For example, the internals of your car engine is most likely coated with some materials to prolong the life of the engine. Most premium cutting tools are also coated with carbides and nitrides.

Now;

- Hardness;
- Tensile Strength;
- Shear Strength;;
- Compression Strength;

Are all different things; there are no material on Earth that you can make a shaft of it and use it as "200 times stronger than steel."

Yes, they are different things.

My recommendation is you to read some wiki pages on different types of strength, how they differ and how you combine materials to obtain the properties you want.

If you want some simple examples; consider a a piece of rope which can have high tensile strength (i.e. you can stretch it) while having virtually zero compression strength. Concrete is the opposite, it has very high compression strength but low tensile strength, which is why we have reinforced concrete (=iron bars + concrete) to obtain high tensile and high compression strength. From Turkish military history, the traditional composite bow is very well known example on how to combine materials to obtain superior properties.

Finally, the word "stronger" is a bit misleading since it is not a well defined physical property but to my knowledge no material is 200x better then steel in every possible way. For example, graphene and borophene have 200x tensile strength while they have virtually zero compression strength in the plane (similar to a piece of rope)

What I'm trying to say is that a material can have some "good" parameters while being "bad" in some parameter. That is why we combine materials to obtain the required properties. For example, we could coat the shaft with oil to reduce the friction. Does the oil make the shaft 200x harder? No, but the shaft last >200x times longer with oil.
