People need to understand the way the game works. Freemasonry on a surface level is a positive organisation, it appears as something about improving the human condition, improving liberty and freedom of the human race. Its quite natural that many men, especially men of great character and potential can be pulled into such an organisation.
For example when you enter a lodge you make your first few vows on your religious book of choice, be it a Bible, be it a Quran, be it a Torah. In the Lodge you will see the G, they will tell you in the first degree it represents God and as you pass through the levels it changes to thinks like Grand Architect, Geometry etc. Its only once you reach the 30th degree a mason told that Lucifer is the God of the Lodge and Lucifer represents a metaphor for the human intellect.
The point is this that 90% of Freemasons will never be told the truth about what they have joined and 90% believe they part of a positive and good organisation. When we go back to Ataturks time there was no internet, it would have been near impossible to know the "true" mission of such an organisation. Most members back then would have 100% believed they were doing good work for the human race.
Remember even the USA was founded by freemasons, people who wanted to create a society free from despots, dictators, kings, emperors, sultans, Popes, Caliphs, in essence the new world order in which they created. A society where the individual was his own king with his own freedoms and liberties. These ideas are very easy for millions to want to join.
Take this model and apply it to things like FETO, or the Islamic Brotherhood, 90% of members are clueless as to the true intent of what they have joined. Do you honestly believe the common FETO member knew he was serving CIA agenda? No, he honestly thought he was working towards Islamic aims.
