The United States Senate, in a 70-29 vote, has passed a $95.34 Billion usd foreign aid bill that contains $14.6 Billion usd in additional military aid for Israel , as well as roughly $10.0 Billion usd I'm humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. Specifically, the military aid included in the package is for Iron Dome, David's Sling and Iron Beam air defense systems (mostly for the re-stock of interceptors). As well as drone launched munitions such as hellfire missiles and PGMs such as JDAMS.

The bill will now head over to the U.S. House of Representatives, where Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will either table thr would be popular bill, or be forced to do it via discharge petition from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies.

MIT rescued NASA's Rocket Engineering Team Director Loay al-Basyuni's parents, who are German citizens of Palestinian origin, from the Gaza Strip after a 4-day operation. Reportedly no help came from the US, Germany or the International Red Cross regarding their evacuation so the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) stepped in on request for help by Loay. The name of the operation was "Journey to Safety".

The couple survived an Israeli airstrike on their ambulance where casualties occurred. The Turkish Intelligence Organization (MIT) acted in coordination with the Egyptian Intelligence so the security of the old couple was ensured. After they were evacuated to the Rafah border diplomatic personnel from the German and Turkish Embassy welcomed them in Egypt. Despite being German citizens the family of the old couple insisted that they stay with the Turkish Embassy. After welcoming them in the Turkish Embassy in Cairo their urgent needs were fulfilled, medical examination concluded and they were transferred to Turkiye.

Loay Elbasyouni is a Palestinian American scientific engineer with NASA and lives in Los Angeles. He has been a member of the team that sent the Perseverance rover to Mars in March 2020 and is a chief engineer for the design team of the Ingenuity robotic helicopter. "I felt that was easier than getting my parents out of Gaza." He is originally from Gaza. His elderly parents live in Germany - their adopted country - but they were visiting Gaza when the war started in October. On Friday he finally got them out of the war stricken area and into Turkiye.

During the 6 Day War in 1967 Israel beat the piss out of a much larger Arab / Muslim coalition that attacked them. As a result of the war, Israel took control of the Golan Heights, Sinai Peninsula, West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as the Arab / Muslim army retreated in shame, with their respective tails between their legs.

The disparity in casualties between the two sides, as well as equipment loses was drastic. The Arab / Muslim coalition got their ass absolutely handed to them.

In the 1948 War the Israelis again worked their Arab / Muslim counterparts. Another abject failure by the Arab / Muslim coalition. The outcome of the war saw the Partition Plan cemented and Israel also took 60% of the area partitioned for the Arabs in that deal as a consequence of the beat down.

In both of those conflicts Israel received supplies from their Allies (as did the Arabs / Muslims from theirs), but the wars themselves were fought by Israelis and both ended in humiliating defeat for the much larger Arab / Muslim coalitions that opposed them.

Neither of those examples are in any way refutable by anyone with a clue.

In 1948 Israel was supported by the Mahal, a large mixed group of triggerhappy American volunteers, US army veterans, and American-jewish reservists served in the US army.

A large group of British veterans also joined the group because they felt that Palestine was a territory of the British Crown, gifted to the jews by the hands of their Queen.

Not to mention the huge Soviet support via Chechoslovakia, those Soviet weapons were also gamechangers and the infrastructure of intelligence the British government left for them.

Before the war of 1948 even started, the real Palestinian resistance was cracked down years before between 1936-1939 by the Scottish Division of the British army.

In 1956 British and French troops attacked Egypt and took the Canal so that the IDF could rush in.

In 1967 there was a large contignent of US ships in front of the Egyptian coast (Israel even attacked one ship to blaim Egypt for it but failed). And France not only send weapons but also trained pilots in their French Mystère's because the Israeli Mystère's werent trusthworthy enough.

In 1973 the Netherlands and the US added extra divisions to their weapon deliveries, especially the Dutch Marines in the Suez Canal.

There was always Western help for Israel. They never fought a war alone. Only in 2006 in Lebanon, and they lost. Even now in Gaza they need billions of weapons and assistance from US and German troops.

Most interesting I found is Al-Sisi and how his earlier show of loyalty to the US and Israel, the war in Sudan (in which his ally Burhan is squeezed by UAE-backed RSF), his failure to secure more funding for his capital city project and the boiling internal situation in Egypt makes him (IMO) the biggest loser from the Arab world in the aftermath of this conflict with a very awkward position.

No doubts Isreal is an artificial state, but by the same token so are all the arab states surrounding her. None of them really came to fruition on their own merits. All of them needed outside powers to defeat the former ruler of the region. Without it, none of those states have "independence" today.

I dont care about the Arab states. They can go to hell together with Israel.

The only Arab nation with a true leader, strong statehood, meritocratic system and tolerance for minorities was Iraq under Saddam Hussein.

And how did that serve the people of Iraq? Saddam led his country to pointless wars he could never win, killing hundreds of thousands of his people and leaving behind a fractured state rife with terrorists and under the influence of foreign powers.

The only good leaders of Arab nations who managed to do something for their countries are the Gulf monarchs, which offered peace, security and economic development for their people. The UAE tops the list, but Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are also doing well. On the other side, you have equally oil rich countries like Iraq and Iran who are in shambles, with a pathetic economy and a population living in poverty.

Leaders should be judged by their results, not their rethoric. The leaders of UAE, Qatar and even Saudi Arabia delivered for their people, while the leaders of Iraq (Saddam included) and Iran were strong in rethoric and very poor in results.
