Conveniently skipping the part where the U.S. and Britain overthrew Iran's democratically elected Prime Minister, Mohammad Mosaddegh, in 1953 after he nationalized Iranian oil, then backed the Shah's dictatorship for the next 25 years.

LOL, Mosaddegh is portrayed by leftist propaganda as champion of democracy and liberalism. While in fact he was a dictator and he is the one who made a coup first.

First he asked the parliament for totally dictatorial powers for 6 months which was approved. Its already non democratic move but OK. But when parliament refused to prolong his dictatorial powers he decided simply to dissolve the demonically elected parliament. Which is classical coup.

And to dissolve the democratically elected parliament Mossadegh used totally rigged referendum:

1) There was no secret ballot. Voters had to choose between casting their ballots in a "Yes" tent or a "No" tent.

2) Intimidation Tactics: "No" Booths were surrounded by Mossadegh and Communists thugs and signs labeling everyone entering them as a "traitor".

3) The government chose to exclude rural areas where the conservative and pro-Shah population was concentrated.

4) In "Yes" booth identity cards were not checked so multiple vote was widespread.

Nawab Safavis admirer was Khomeini, no? The ideolog of the revolution was Ali Sheriati , who was an admirer of Ahmed Kasravi.

How any of these justify American & British intervention to install a puppet and steal Iran's oil?

1) Mossadegh himself made a coup when dissolved democratically elected parliament and what happened few days later was actually anti-coup.
2) General Zahedi who replaced Mossadegh was not a "puppet" of British. On contrary he was very anti-British Iranian nationalist that's why they even arrested him in the past.
3) 1951 hassle oil nationalization led to sanctions and strong economic crisis in Iran. Later in 1973 Shah himself nationalized oil in calm way.

Ironically its actually the Aatulas who slaughtered Mossadegh supporters and his Communist allies.

Also everyone talks about dismissing of Mossadegh (who was not elected by the people) after he illegally dissolved democratically elected parliament, but no one talks about president Banisadr, who was elected by 76% of Iranians in free elections, but then dismissed by the Ayatulas for no reason at all.
