Russian mechanics inspected the homemade Ukrainian BMPT "Azovets", which is an analogue of the Russian BMPT "Terminator". The Azovets BMPT was developed in 2015 on the basis of a bulldozer, which was previously made from a demilitarized T-64 tank. On the BMPT, they planned to install two combat modules with 23-mm twin GSh-23 cannons, or 30-mm GSh-30 cannons, and the developers also planned to install an ATGM and two 7.62 mm machine guns. The project to create the Azovets BMPT was closed due to financial scandals, and the combat vehicle itself was buried; the production cost of the Azovets BMPT was $5 million. Details in the video.

A prototype of a turret for protecting armored vehicles from FPV drones was shown by the Russian company Lobaev Arms. According to the manufacturer, a prototype of this system is currently being tested. The decision to create an anti-drone gun stems from the need to find an asymmetric and at the same time cost-effective answer to the threat of FPV drones to armored vehicles. The anti-drone gun will be a compact robotic turret - at this stage, the selection of weapon caliber is underway. Now the choice is between a cartridge for 12-gauge smoothbore shotguns, probably with buckshot, and also a standard intermediate cartridge for the Russian army, 7.62x39 mm caliber. Among the advantages of the complex are its compactness and speed of deployment, which takes only three minutes.

The Soviet 68-ton super tank IS-7 will be restored in Russia. After restoration, the tank will return to the 1st pavilion “Heavy tanks and self-propelled guns of the USSR” of the Patriot Park Tank Museum. The IS-7, also called Object 260, is considered one of the most powerful domestic tanks; a total of 6 of them were built. Development of the tank began in the summer of 1945. The tank was armed with a 130 mm S-70 rifled gun. There were also two KPVT machine guns and six 7.62 mm RP-46 machine guns. The IS-7 was equipped with an electrically driven automatic loader. This brought its rate of fire to a fantastic 6-7 rounds per minute for the 1940s. The tank had 150 mm frontal armor, which was not penetrated not only by the 128 mm gun of the German Maus tank, but also by its own 130 mm S-70 gun. The IS-7 is equipped with an automatic fire extinguishing system designed to turn on three times in the event of a tank fire. It was installed in the engine and transmission compartment of the car. In February 1949, the USSR decided to stop all work on tanks weighing more than 50 tons, and this is where the history of the IS-7 ended. Engine power - tank 1050 hp. Maximum speed on the highway is up to 60 km/h. Fuel range is 300 km. Crew - five people.

Servicemen from the repair units of the Russian army spoke about their work. The work of these people is little publicized, but they play an important role in the units of the Russian army. On average, it takes specialists about two days to repair one combat vehicle. The video shows the repair of a Russian diesel engine UTD-20, developed in 1965.

The Russian army has begun testing the prototype of the Stalker heavy robotic demining complex. The remote-controlled robot sapper "Stalker" was developed by the DST-Ural plant; earlier we showed another robot sapper MT-2 from this company. The robot is designed to clear the area from explosive objects and carries out mine clearance at a depth of up to 30 centimeters, in all types of minefields. The sapper robot is controlled remotely and operates at a distance of up to one kilometer in the presence of interference, without interference, the communication range is up to 3 kilometers, and the image from its four video cameras can also be broadcast to the command post.
The developers note that the price of the robot is lower than that of foreign analogues, but they do not say what it is. The mass of the machine with the working element is a rotating striker trawl, 27 tons. The robot is equipped with an EMZ engine with a power of 540 horsepower and is equipped with a hydrostatic transmission. The maximum speed is up to 10 km/h, and when trawling - from 1 to 5 km/h.

Russian sappers received new shoes to protect them from mines. Shoes do not provide one hundred percent protection, but they minimize the consequences of damage from anti-personnel mines. Several shoe options are currently being tested. Mine resistant shoes SZS 10P - designed for squad commanders, for everyday wear. Provides protection for the upper part of the foot from shrapnel and the lower part of the shoe, protects against an explosion on the PFM-1 "Lepestok" mine containing 37 grams of explosive. The shoes weigh about 2.5 kilograms and have a 35mm sole. The second model, SZS 35 boots, have a higher protection class; these shoes are worn directly by sappers. SZS 35 boots protect against Lepestok and PMN-4 mines containing up to 50 grams of explosives. And the third boots, called “Spider,” protect against the explosion of PMN-2 mines; these mines contain up to 100 grams of explosives. The peculiarity of the design of this shoe is that the place where the mine is detonated by contact does not occur under the foot; the shoes have blades placed forward and backward, and the mine is detonated under them.

Despite all the efforts of the military industry, simple effective protection of tanks from FPV drones has not yet been invented. Therefore, the crews of Russian tanks install homemade protection against drones on their tanks. Sometimes the defense looks ridiculous, but these solutions work. The apotheosis of homemade defense was this design: the crew of the Russian T-72 tank simply covered the tank on all sides with shields. The design protects the tank from drones, but turret rotation and visibility are now limited.
