Military personnel of the Russian army and the army of Tajikistan conducted a joint bilateral exercise to destroy mock terrorist gangs. According to the legend of the exercises, Russian crews of the Orlan-10 UAV and the Supercam UAV discovered enemy SUVs during aerial reconnaissance of the state border of Tajikistan. The exercises took place at the Kharb-Maidon mountain-desert training ground in the Khatlon region from April 15 to 18. The enemy was destroyed using Piranha FPV drones, Mi-8MTV5-1, Mi-24 helicopters, BM-21 Grad and Uragan MLRS, and 2S3 Akatsiya self-propelled guns were used. The infantry was transported on Russian BTR-82A and Tajik BTR-80. T-72B3 tanks from Russia and T-72 tanks from Tajikistan also took part in the exercises. ZSA "Linza" ambulance armored vehicles were used. At the end of the exercises, in order to prevent the enemy from retreating to the state border and the complete defeat of illegal armed groups, a tactical airborne assault force was landed on the enemy’s retreat route.

Assembly of T-80BVM tanks, inspection of the Omsktransmash tank plant. Footage of the visit by the Russian Minister of Defense to the T-80BVM tank production plant in the Omsk region. In the video you can see the assembly of T-80BVM tanks, gas turbine engines GTD-1250 or GTD-1500 at the Omsktransmash tank plant. The plant management reported that all T-80BVM tanks, while still on the assembly line, are equipped with the “Cape” camouflage system and a protective visor, also called a barbecue. It is worth noting that the tanks still do not have protection for the base of the turret and the engine compartment from FPV drones, these are the vulnerable spots of the tank, the main damage to tanks now occurs in these places. Despite the skepticism about the T-14 Armata tank, it is being produced and is being mastered by cadets; one of the new tanks will be shown at the end of the video, along with the T-90M Proryv tank, on which the Relikt dynamic protection was installed. The company’s management also reported to the minister about an increase in the production of heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A “Solntsepek” by 2.5 times. This was achieved through the expansion of production capacity, the transition to a 24-hour work schedule and an increase in personnel by 1,200 people in 2023.
Summing up, the minister noted that the company promptly solves all assigned tasks. To date, the issue with the production and supply of new engines of higher power has been resolved.

Repair of a Ukrainian Leopard 2A6 tank by Russian mechanics. Russian mechanics inspected a Ukrainian Leopard 2A6 tank made in Germany in 1999. Previously, the tank was used by the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Army; the tank ran over a mine and was abandoned in the Avdiivka direction, where it stood in a field for a long time due to problems with evacuation. The Leopard 2A6 tank was produced in Germany since 1997; when the tanks arrived in Ukraine, they were equipped with additional grilles to protect against cumulative ammunition. We are publishing an interview with mechanics talking about the Leopard 2A6 tank, they promise to restore the tank within 2 days, but judging by the damage, this will be difficult to do. Most likely the tank is being prepared for the May holidays.

Russian military personnel showed the Akhmat armored car with maximum all-round homemade protection against drones. The creation, of course, resembles the cars from the movie “Mad Max,” but such protection, despite its appearance, really works. Additional screens protect the vehicle from attacks from FPV drones and loitering munitions. Screens can also protect against projectiles thrown from quadcopters. In addition to lattice screens, the armored car was equipped with steel sheets to protect the chassis. Z-STS Akhmat armored vehicles are produced at the Remdizel plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. Russian armored vehicles "Akhmat" are made on a three-axle all-wheel drive chassis "KAMAZ-5350", they are inferior in tactical and technical parameters to armored vehicles "Typhoon", but at the same time they are much cheaper.

Footage of the work of the KP-125 field kitchen of the Russian Army. The KP-125 field kitchen was developed in the 60s and is still used by the Russian army, since the design of the kitchen turned out to be successful and it is used not only in the army. Chefs say that the KP-125 kitchen is more convenient to use than the earlier KP-42 and KP-2-48 kitchens and the newer KP-130 kitchens. The boilers could be quickly removed and washed, and the cabinets held heat better.
The kitchen is designed for preparing food or boiling water and transporting it in the field, which can even be done using a car, since the total weight of the kitchen is 1500 kg. The field kitchen is equipped with three boilers, technical information is on the screen. Capacity of the boilers in liters: for the 1st dish and boiling water 100/110 liters, for the 2nd dish 50/55 liters and the volume of the boiler for boiling water is 100 liters. The boiling time of water in boilers, taking into account the ignition of the nozzles, for liquid fuel is 60 minutes, for solid fuel 90 minutes.
To heat boilers, kerosene, diesel fuel, firewood and coal are used. Liquid fuel consumption is 7-10 liters per hour, solid fuel - about 30 kg/hour, fuel tank capacity is 48 liters. The kitchen is designed to prepare food for 125 people. Details in the video.

Footage of the installation of Tsar-barbecue protection on Russian T-80BVM tanks. These homemade designs are criticized, but tankers are not interested in the beauty of the tank, their goal, to complete a combat mission and remain alive. The T-72, T-80, T-90 tanks, including Western tanks, have a weak spot in the upper part of the engine compartment. Until simple factory protection of tanks from drones is invented, structures called king-barbecues will be increasingly installed on tanks.

The first Russian BMP-3 with the 4S24 dynamic protection kit entered service with the troops. The 4S24 dynamic protection kit was first shown in August 2023. The video shows tests of the Russian 4S24 “Karkas” dynamic protection from the Research Institute of Steel. As a result of the tests, it was possible to confirm the level of protection of the container based on 4C24, which was at least 500 millimeters. The 4S24 dynamic protection set is capable of withstanding hits from a monoblock anti-tank grenade launcher, as well as armor-piercing and armor-piercing incendiary ammunition from the KPVT, ZU-23-2 and 30-mm 2A42 cannon. The area of protection covering the side of the hull of the BMP-3 armored vehicle is 62%, the forehead of the hull is 36%, and the turret of the vehicle is 70%. The new protection managed to increase the guaranteed shelf life by one and a half times. The 4S20 protection unit needed to be replaced once every 10 years, the new 4S24 protection unit can be replaced after 15 years.

Russian mechanics inspected the Ukrainian American-made M88A1 repair and recovery vehicle. The car was hit by an FPV drone, which pierced the battery compartment. The M88 repair and recovery vehicle was created in 1959, the design turned out to be successful and the M88 was upgraded in 1975 to the M88A1 version. It is worth noting that the M88A1 is designed to service M60 tanks and cannot evacuate M1 Abrams tanks. To evacuate M1 Abrams tanks, the M88A2 Hercules version was created in 1997, and in 2018 the M88A3 version was shown, as the weight of Abrams tanks continues to increase. The M88A1 military tow truck is designed for the evacuation of damaged equipment weighing up to 45 tons, with a crane lifting capacity of up to 25 tons. The M88A1's hull is armored and protects its three-man crew from small arms fire, artillery fragments and anti-personnel mines. The M88A1 is armed with a 12.7 mm Browning machine gun or a 40 mm Mark 19 mod.3 grenade launcher. The vehicle is equipped with 66 mm L8A1 smoke grenades. The M88A1 ARV is equipped with a 1350 hp engine and allows a speed of up to 42 km/h, and the vehicle has a cruising range of 480 km. The M88A1 ARV is very popular in the world and is in service with many countries.

Russian mechanics inspect the Ukrainian M1150 demining vehicle. The video shows a Ukrainian M1150 mine clearance vehicle made in America. The M1150 was hit by a drone in the weak spot of the surveillance camera, the crew lost visibility and drove into a minefield in the Berdychi area. It was difficult to evacuate the M1150 due to its heavy weight, it reaches 75 tons; several vehicles were used for evacuation. Due to its heavy weight, it is better to use the machine on dry ground. The M1150 mine clearing vehicle was developed in 2009 on the basis of the M1A1 Abrams tank and is considered the best in the US Army for work on the front line. The M1150 has good armor with dynamic protection and is designed for making passages in minefields. The M1150 is equipped with a blade mine sweeper that plows the ground, lifting mines to the surface and throwing them aside. The trawl can be dropped without leaving the car; it is mounted on a hydraulic “High Lift Adapter”. Also, instead of a trawl, the “adapter” provides for the installation of a bulldozer bucket, after which the machine can be used as a bulldozer. The machine has signal flags that are stuck into the ground by two pneumatic devices, indicating the demining area. In the rear compartment of the vehicle there are MK22 Mod 4 rockets with charges attached to them, which are 107-meter fabric “sleeves” equipped with a detonation cable and filled with explosives. The projectile is fired from the M58A3 launcher at a length of 100 meters; after detonation, an area up to 8 meters wide is cleared. The M1150 mine clearing vehicle is armed with a 12.7 mm machine gun, has a crew of 2 people, and the estimated cost of the M1150 is about $14 million.

Russian T-90M Proryv tanks were equipped with factory canopies to protect against drones, this has not yet been officially announced. The first T-90M Proryv tanks were spotted at one of the training grounds, where the gunner-operator of one of the combat vehicles told his impressions of the tank. A protective canopy from the drone covers the top of the entire tank turret, and it also has hatches for loading the crew. The protection looks pretty good and is strikingly different from the homemade structures that the crews themselves previously installed on tanks. Interview with the tank gunner-operator at the end of the video.

Close-up footage of a Russian T-72 tank with a homemade Tsar-barbecue protection installed, designed to protect against drones. The protection was further strengthened by welding additional grilles onto the outer hull; in this configuration, the chance of hitting the tank with an FPV drone is minimal. Also, to combat mines, the T-72 tank was equipped with a KMT-7 track mine trawl with two roller sections; the trawl provides trawling against anti-track and anti-bottom mines with a reliability of 95%. Despite criticism of this design, it is now the most effective protection for a tank against drones.

Russian troops received a new batch of BMP-3 and BMD-4M manufactured in 2024. This is the second batch of BMP-3 for 2024. Kurganmashzavod reports that the BMP-3 has been improved and received enhanced protection, which will likely be installed locally in units. The BMP-3 was equipped with standard additional protection kits that protect the BMP from side-by-side attacks from any angle. Kits are also supplied to protect the upper hemisphere of an armored personnel carrier from the discharge of cumulative ammunition from above from drones. The kit also includes “Cape” visibility reduction devices, made of heat-insulating and radio-absorbing material, to reduce the visibility of the combat vehicle. In addition, additional protection kits for the BMP-2, anti-cumulative grilles and armored screens were manufactured ahead of schedule. There is no information on the BMD-4M.

A homemade medical evacuation vehicle 502T will be received by Russian troops. The Russian Museum of Military History in the village of Padikovo showed a homemade medical evacuator created on the Izdeliya 502TB platform. The 502TB multi-purpose armored vehicle or universal tracked chassis was created on the basis of the BMP-3; on the 502TB Products platform it was planned to create command post and evacuation vehicles, as well as deploy electronic warfare systems. But developments based on the 502TB chassis were not accepted by the Russian Ministry of Defense and were not further developed. The Museum of Military History in the village of Padikovo bought old cars and created a homemade medical tow truck 502TB on their basis; officially the car does not have its own index. The vehicles were restored with funds from the museum and private investors and will be shown at the parade on May 9, after which they will be sent for trial operation to some units of the Russian troops. The 502T medical evacuation vehicle has a crew of two people, and the vehicle is capable of transporting up to four wounded people.

Testing of Russian cartridges against drones with caliber 12/70 "Interception" of the Tekhkrim company. The Russian company Tekhkrim presented new “Interception” cartridges designed to intercept drones. The tests were shown by journalist Alexander Rogatkin. Anti-drone cartridge 12/70 caliber, has 6 lead segments connected by Kevlar thread, the cartridge device is on the screen. When firing this cartridge, a strong Kevlar thread is revealed, which, when it hits a target, instantly gets tangled in the drone and disables it. The maximum diameter of the opened net of the Intercept cartridge is one meter; the net opens completely at a distance of 15-20 meters from the barrel cut. This solution will be especially effective against FPV drones, which have begun to attack infantry. According to the manufacturer, the effective firing range of the cartridge is up to 100 meters. Details in the video. The shooting distance for drones is 20-30 meters.

The Russian army received unsinkable boats; a total of 40 have been delivered so far. In the video you can see how the military is testing a boat from Rostov designers from the Kulibin Club; the boats are resistant to small arms fire and to ammunition dropped from drones. The boat is designed for landing on an unequipped shore and operation in severe weather conditions. The boat can be used with wave heights of up to 2 meters, at a distance from the shore of no more than 12 nautical miles. The weight of the fully equipped boat is 520 kilograms, the carrying capacity is up to 892 kilograms, the boat’s engine power is 130 horsepower. Due to the fact that the boat is filled with special foam, the boat is virtually unsinkable and can easily withstand shrapnel and bullet damage. The very shape of the boat is made specifically so as not to raise a large wave and make less noise. The low-density polyethylene from which the boat is made is a high-strength elastic material; all holes and holes in it can be easily repaired right on the spot. The bottom of the boat is divided into sections, each compartment is a sealed space, so if there is a hole, water will not occupy the entire space and the craft will not sink or lose speed.
