It doesn't have a simple structure; such products are not very practical in a combat environment and are prone to malfunction.

I think it's nothing more than useless added complexity to a basic design. We saw retractable RCWS when the idea is to be less visible, garner less attraction, like Best's armored Amaroks for gendarme. But for an actual combat vehicle, what's the point?

I love how compact that is, Venom LR is a truly amazing design. I wonder if that turret could also carry a Cirit pod for even more fire support.

This turret should be used in navy against USVs and UAVs. Great combination of weapons. OMTAS kills USVs and 30mm VENOM kills cheap kamikaze UAVs.

This was much needed. SSB and MPG signed a new contract to supply 85 tow and recovery vehicles to army, gendarme and police, with army getting 77 tow vehicles.

"Under this agreement:
• 77 recovery vehicles will be delivered to the Land Forces Command,
• 2 tow + 2 recovery vehicles to the Gendarmerie General Command,
• 2 tow + 2 recovery vehicles to the General Directorate of Security, bringing the total to 85 vehicles.

These 8x8, 8x4, and 4x2 vehicles will feature locally produced armor steel, bulletproof glass, cranes, semi-trailers, and superstructure components. MPG committed to generating 50% domestic added value for the project. "

35mm AP round development signed. Knew MKE didn't produce any in house. We didn't have anything that can be used on ground vehicles except ATOM and older HEI-T for Oerlikons. That will now change for future AFVs.

Just thinking loud out, instead of pouring plenty of money into dumb R&D projects, why wouldn't MKE do the R&D for obviously necessary items?

I imagine it's because MKE is a production facility and not a R&D institution. It's so ingrained in it's DNA that it is impossible to change it. Just like how Sümer holding disappeared something like ASSAN should have devoured MKE and morph into something better.

Why we didn't try to develop such system using Firtina turret on a truck?
We tried to sell T-155 couldn't because of engine issue. This would be solving some problems.
Azerbaijan bought both DANA and DITA from Czech Republic, Nora from Serbia.

Because of MKE... Although it has accelerated some work since becoming a joint-stock company (A.Ş.), it still hasn't achieved the desired performance. The wheeled howitzer issue hasn't been resolved for several years.

We have Arpan 155mm but nothing about orders just prototype same as alot of other Turkish defence projects
