Libya's rejection of any constitutional basis that would return the country to dictatorship
Libya's political and military institutions have declared their refusal to accept the constitutional basis that would lead to the return of despotism by allowing the candidacy of those who have caused bloodshed in the country's upcoming elections.
After the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum announced that they had failed to reach a compromise on the constitutional basis for the December 24 elections at meetings held in Switzerland on June 28-July 3, the president of the Libyan Supreme Council (DDIK) Khalid Al-Mishri, the Justice and Construction Party (JCP) and the Army-affiliated force to protect the west of Tripoli received occasional statements.
DYK President Mishri said on his Facebook account that the reason for the strengthening of the dialogue is an effort to impose situations such as giving soldiers and foreign citizens the opportunity to run.
Addressing Caliph Hafter, the leader of the illegitimate armed forces in eastern Libya, Mishri said::
"Take off your military uniform, get out of your U.S. citizenship, correct your legal status associated with war crimes, but you will again lose at the ballot boxes as you lost at the ammunition ballot boxes."
In a written statement on its official Facebook page, the Justice and Construction Party (JCP) said that political dialogue meetings and their associated results require the collective political participation of all national political currents and groups without distinction.
"The issue that the party wants to achieve in the country is the construction of a stable and civilian state that rejects despotism and one-man rule and solves the troubles of the people."the statements were included.
The party demanded that the UN mission make efforts to organize the dialogue forum as soon as possible, while better preparing for this meeting and focusing on the approved roadmap.
In a statement, the Western Tripoli Protection Force, referring to Hafter, declared that it "completely rejects any offer and outcome that would allow the candidacy of a person who has caused the bloodshed of Libyans and attempted a coup against legitimate rule in the country."
He stressed that the conduct of future elections will be mandatory, as Libyans will accept after a referendum on the constitutional bill is held.
On the other hand, Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dibeybe called on the UN delegation and all national parties in the country to be aware of their responsibilities and to take into account the general public interest and to reach a compromise in a way that will ensure that the elections are held on the date.
In Libya, there are concerns about the adoption of the constitutional basis that allows Khalifa Hafter, a commander of militias that have fought for years against the internationally recognized government of national reconciliation, to run for president.
The roadmap, previously approved under UN auspices, provides for the draft constitution to be submitted to a referendum before the elections. But a group in Libya is calling for the referendum to be postponed until after the election and for a temporary constitutional basis to be adopted due to time constraints and logistical obstacles.
In Libya, which has been embroiled in civil war and political crises since the February 2011 revolution that ended Muammar Gaddafi's regime, stability and security have not been achieved because the coup-winning Caliph Hafter militia, supported by Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and France, controls the country's East.
