Never should have stopped the offensive. Taking Sirte and the Al-Jufra Airbase would have sealed our victory. Russia would have been forced to leave and Haftar would have fled to Egypt never to be seen again. Instead Libya is slipping away because the government is unfocused.

We needed Libya cemented and then focus on other battlegrounds. Instead we have this shitshow to deal with and no one knows what the plan even is. Cavusoglu and is excellent diplomacy skills. Every gain the TSK makes this guy reverses and gives it back to the Russians or the West on a silver plater.

Wouldn't suprise me if Haftar somehow comes to power after December.
I agree, stopping at Sirte was a big strategic mistake. Turkey was supposed to continue, Sirte back then was much easier than the whole Libyan West.
About Russians they just left they didn't even fight, I the real supporters of Hafter are The UAE, France, Egypt, Israel, and Greece. Russia supports Saif al-Islam.

Turkey was cornered and a push against Sirte was not possible. If Algeria had come out more vocally (like Egypt) in support of GNA, Sirte could have been taken. A lost opportunity, unfortunately.

You really either do overestimate Turkey or underestimate Egypt
Erdo would have never gained Sirte when Egypt was severely alarmed
Guys, the one who controls Egypt is a fqing dictator whose ppl detest him to the point that the police are forcing ppl to the voting booths
He primarily cares about his well-being! Such rulers normally have a bad ending when they fall; so their primary cause is to ensure that their ppl never get riled up and this is done by destroying democracy in the region!
Just look at what happened in Sudan few days ago for Gods sake
Now, Egypt has a logistic advantage in Libya compared to Turkey. Egypt can send plethora of tanks and jets with ease for dirt cheap since they have adjacent borders but Turkey has to cross the fqing SEA just to send a few troops! Moreover several oil fields are in the UAE's axis control so if Haftar switched to a war of attrition, he may have the benefit in the long term due to massive funds from UAE. Just couple that with thousands of rocket launchers, S300s, Abraham tanks, F16-Typhoon-Su 35-Raphael combination from Egypt and that was a time when Turkey's air defence system didnt have except lovely korkut and Hisar A (not even A+) and werent even in huge numbers to cover their territories in Libya
Not only that, but Egypt has SUEZ! If Sisi felt threatened, he would close the Suez to put pressure on Western states to stop Turkey and I assure you that the West will never ever lose money for lovely Turkey especially when they can easily block the sea if they want
So Mighty Turkey has to face an alliance of Egypt, France, Russia, Ksa, Israel, and UAE along with Western states who dont want their supply lines for imports and exports screwed up all alone! And wow! Surely TB2 will solve the issue right?
You ppl are underestimating dictators for gods sake
You do realise that Sisi's life hangs in the balance here right?

Even Algeria, the obe which shares with Turkey the most, didnt vocally support Turket during Sirtee offensive
Guys Turkey isnt monolithic
Turkey is good to piss such a big alliance but it is still small to face them alone especially during COVID times, war in Syria and Iraq etc...

Mate I agree you, BUT Turkiye DID NOT miss the opportunity! The tactic was change, because "At that time it can go worst".
WHY because->

Reality back then was that EU and others SA, UAE, Egypt were PANICKED. Therefor EU Prepared plan and APPLY URGENT ACTION which was to Create Obstacle "BLOCKED of Libyan seashore " which STOPPED TURKIYE.

I am talking about EU made Military group with Ships to close Libyan sea and They Collide with Turkyie navy. They said to Turkiye STOP and come to the Table for Diplomacy. Turkiye agreed it "at list for Turkiye the MAIN GOAL was REACHED". STOP the war, Put you Military Presence in Libya if things go worst, Free Libyan at least HALF.

Libya: Row over attempt to suspend foreign minister Najla El-Mangoush

Libya's presidential council says it has suspended Foreign Minister Najla El-Mangoush for 14 days and banned her from travelling, pending an inquiry.

It accused her of not co-ordinating on foreign policy, but the transitional government rejected the decision, saying she would carry on as normal.

The political infighting follows comments she made in a BBC interview about the Lockerbie bombing in 1988.
Libya admitted responsibility for the bombing in 2003.
Controversy ignited here after the minister spoke to the BBC about the possible extradition of a new Libyan suspect wanted by the US over the bombing.

The downing of the plane - in which 270 people were killed - remains a sensitive subject here, and a painful one in the US and Britain.

Najla El-Mangoush told us that the Libyan government was very open to collaborating with the US on the question of extradition, and said the matter was progressing.

"We understand the pain and sadness of the victims and the families," she said.

The move to suspend - and ground - the top diplomat comes ahead of a major international conference on Libya in Paris next Friday.

It also comes as Libya is moving uncertainly towards nationwide elections, due in late December.

This kind of dispute between institutions of state is not new in Libya, far from it.

The country has two competing parliaments and is deeply divided between East and West. With the elections approaching, the internal competition is on the increase.

The Libyan government said the presidential council had no legal authority to suspend or investigate a minister, and the foreign minister would continue her work.

She is currently out of the country and is expected to attend the Paris conference.

It's likely that the international community will want this row to be defused quickly, to keep the focus on holding elections - tricky as that may be - and on the future of Libya.

Shit is getting worse IMO
Now that Israel may be active in this issue, we can expect assassinations, cheating in elections, military war etc...

In Syria so many years were wasted with inaction, when Turkey eventually did move erdogan was always quick to shut it down. Idlib was a good example, the operation east of the river was another good example.

US courts cant judge foreign presidents. Thats why they waiting.
As long as the Ministry of Justice or the Attorney General in Tripoli has't issued any decision to investigate or arrest him don't expect a US court to do that.
Someone in Tripoli helped him to run for the upcoming elections.

300? Come on man, that is only a PR stunt to show that France is still active, to include itself in the political spectrum, has geopolitical worth and above all care about democracy and human rights!
Haftar has tens of thousands of mercenaries and he can, if not getting, more. 300 mercenaries is like peanuts for him

Rumour has it that it was french special forces advisors that were helping haftar especially in the siege of tripoli did they fight in the frontlines still has not been confirmed but they were there in the shadows.
