Greek media | Work is being done on a Türkiye-Libya-Italy tripartite agreement in the Mediterranean.

Migration control in the Mediterranean, ensuring security and the extraction and exploitation of Libya's oil/natural gas are among the common goals.

Unlike Greece, Italy does not oppose Turkey's Libya operations, which strengthens Turkey's closeness to Italy.

Previously, preventing the flow of migrants from Libya was the common agenda of Italy and Turkey, and this prompted the foreign ministries of both countries to initiate cooperation efforts.

Turkey, with the financial support of Qatar, has been actively involved in arming, training and supporting groups affiliated with the Turkish government in Libya since 2011.

Beyond ideological support, Erdogan had openly acknowledged the strategic importance of Libya's oil and gas resources for Turkey. This issue was recently brought to the agenda by the Turkish energy minister.

While discussions in pro-government Turkish media provide limited information on the Erdogan-Meloni meeting, reports by Meloni indicate that he placed particular emphasis on leveraging Turkey's influence in Libya to solve the problem of African migrants and smugglers entering Italy.

Italians always looked warm on joint initiatives especially when it comes to Libya. They want to secure a place for their business in Libya as Italians are opportunists. Their relationship with Greece is also not very smooth when it comes to the arrangements around the Mediterranean.

I like Hermes for their efforts on posting actual news with good translations, but they like using Pentapostagma a lot Re Greek news. It's a small paper with a small, rather fringe follower base, nearing alt right conspiracies in instances. They remind me much of some Turkish ones.

Turkish and Italian cooperation on Libya has been growing for some time and this recent meet was important, yes. But I don't expect Italians to take a position against Greece next to us in any issues that really matter. Them changing their stance on our EEZ deal with Libya would be worth gold, diamonds. But don't expect Eni to throw away any agreements with Greece or S Cyprus.

Wagner left Libya and evacuated many points in Syria

According to the Wagner telegram channel Gray Zone, 99% of the Wagner militia has left Libya, the tanks leaving today may be directly connected to Russia or may go in the direction of Tobruk>Sudan to be used in Sudan.

All Wagner personnel who left Libya were transferred to Mali for an anti-terrorist operation. A similar situation exists in Syria. Wagner evacuated several of its bases in Syria due to the tension with the Syrian regime.

Gray Zone also made fun of Wagner members who left Libya, saying that there were problems between Haftar and the Wagner ranks, that is why Wagner left Libya, and that if it was not for "Wagner", there would be Turks where you are now.

I think Egypt-Turkiye rapprochement is not in line with the interests of either the US or Russia.

Russia, I understand. But United States, why not?

If they act in coordination in the Eastern Med, Israel and Libya; Egypt and Turkiye cannot be cornered by US on these common geopolitics issues. The collective power that possible Egyptian-Turkish alliance can limit the space for the great powers to act on our backyard.
