Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh to Muslim
& Good day to Others
Today, I share with this:
Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck
- He was a general in the Imperial German Army
and the commander of its forces in the
German East Africa campaign;
- Essentially undefeated in the field,
he was the only German commander
to successfully invade a part of the British Empire in WW1.
Source
- He was called the Lion of Africa;
- For 4 years, with a force of about 14,000
(3,000 Germans & 11,000 Africans),
he held in check a much larger force of 300,000
British, Indian, Belgian, and Portuguese troops;
- He was awarded with
Pour le Mérite with Oak Leaves.
