this tank has sophisticated isareli anti atgm countermeassures for sure
Arena and thropy also explodes tho.In fact, when developing K2, South Korea developed a hard-kill active protection system called KAPS. However, the currently produced K2 tank includes Soft-Kill APS, but Hard-Kill APS is excluded.
The main reason why KAPS was excluded from the K2 tank was that if the APS was installed, the price of the tank rose more than 10%, and the explosive power was too strong, causing friendly infantry to be injured around the tank, so the mass production stage excluded Hard-Kill APS. In K2-PIP, an improved version of K2, Hard-Kill APS will be added. The biggest reason why KAPS is more expensive than Israeli Trophy or Russian Arena and cannot be used due to infantry safety issues
I think KAPS needs to be technically supplemented. And need to be able to produce it cheaper than Trophy or Arena.Arena and thropy also explodes tho.
This probably has to do with its rival Leopard. Or it is thought to be the purpose of testing the tank's performance in cold environments and various topographic environmentsMistake in the article or why is the tank being tested in eastern germany?
The climate here in germany and in norway aren't comparable at all. This seems weird to me.
It does sound fishy to me. There shouldn't be any reason to test it in Germany as the tanks will be used in Norway. the climate in Germany isn't comparable with Norway, not during winter nor summer. This probably has to do with its rival Leopard. According to an official at Hyundai Rotem, which is in charge of exporting K2 tanks, K2 will conduct additional tests in Germany after conducting cold weather tests in Norway. But I don't know in detail what kind of test K2 is taking in Germany. It does sound fishy to me. Where did you get these sources? Wait, the K2 on the left side of the picture seems to be the original K2 used by the Korean military, but why did the original K2 come to Norway with K2NO? Do you know anything about this?
Could it be that they're not in Germany yet ?
K2 looks very sleek. Did it have active protection system, and where is it located ?
December 28 th 2021, at noon, universal time, the Platinum Ray car carrier (under the Bahamas flag) entered the Norwegian port of Drammen in the Buskerud province, on board of which there were two South Korean K2NO tanks, belonging to the Hyundai Rotem company, which will undergo evaluation tests as part of the procedure for the successor of 52 Leopard 2A4NOs. One is with the hard-kill Trophy VPS system and the other K2NO with the soft-kill system only. K2NO was presented at the 13th ADEX (International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition) in Seoul, October 19-23. The tank received reactive armuor, the Rafael Trophy hard-kill Israeli active vehicle protection system (VPS) and the Norwegian Kongsberg Protector RS4 remote-controlled weapon module with a 12.7 mm machine gun. Then, after the completion of the delivery program, the Koreans offered the Norwegians to jointly develop a deeply modernized K3 tank with an unmanned turret and 130mm smoothbore cannon, and an improved suspension that could be built in the mid-2030s.Where did you get these sources? Wait, the K2 on the left side of the picture seems to be the original K2 used by the Korean military, but why did the original K2 come to Norway with K2NO? Do you know anything about this?
