Greek PM is clear: If we do not agree with Turkey, we will go to The Hague
Your side couldn't agree for decades and threaten with The Hague probably since then, just do it and go...

My guess probably because you are the only country with 6nm territorial waters and 10nm airspace (claim).

Despite the fact that the member named @Akritas has been quoted from international texts and refuted many times on almost every subject that he put forward on both the Greek and Turkish sides, he tries to make a perception based on lies by repeating the same issues over and over again. After these actions, the permissions of this member will be restricted in order to avoid copying/pasting the same texts over and over on certain topics and not to bring the topics into vicious discussions by removing them from the scope they should be. To begin with, it will not be allowed to write in the Blue Homeland topic any longer.

Regards.

How incompetent and stupid could you be, to give this islands to Greece in Lausanne? What did Inönü drink before he took part at the table with the negotiators?

All the Aegean islands, apart from the so called ”12” islands (in red) and Crete, were lost to Greece post 1830 during and after Greek Independence. Remaining “12” islands, Crete and Thessalia and Ionina were lost in the 1912 Balkan Wars. Crete was given to Greece. But the “12” islands were given to Italians.
So even the last islands were lost 10 years before Lausanne!
Inonu did not give anything away! They were already lost. Only the state of the islands in red were subject to negotiation after Second World War.

Italy was suppose to give the Dodocanese islands back after they invaded Libya.

Instead they used a loophole and the balkan wars to keep the islands to themselves the Ottomans protested this move but the Balkan wars and its gradual weakening meant it could not do anything about it.

When italy lost ww2 they handed over the islands to greece.

Thank you for acknowledging that the Young Turks (the reign of the 3 stupid pasha's) lost the 12 red islands and much of everything in the Balkan War and First World War after they illegaly brought down Sultan Abdulhamid II (its called karma).

We won the war against the colonial powers and emerged independant and victorious at the negotiation table, but after we left Lausanne, we left smaller.
Abdulhamid lost nearly 1.5 million km² territory during his reign another fact you guy forget to mention, the Balkan and Turkish-Italian Wars were not caused by the Young Turks.

We won against the Imperialists inside Anatolia the Turkish heartland, how did we left smaller after Lausanne?

Seriously if you don't talk with facts then better be quiet, it triggers me really hard when you try to fool the people around with your stupid lies.

These 12 islands are so close to our land that we can hear the Greek peasants fart when he lets his sheeps out in the morning.

Abdulhamid II ? Wasn't that guy who wanted to hand over his empire to the British protectorate ?

The reason why nobody could defend the islands dear comar because your beloved abdulhamid made our navy rott. His cowardness costed us much more than that though. The owl in the palaca said mehmet akif. He was right.

The Akritas user is as if I am listening to the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Government of New Democracy. You will tell him something and he will try to present you as a liar and a propagandist.
In some issues, Greece is indeed right.
Example: Threat from the amphibious ships of the Aegean Army, Slavery of immigrants and refugees & overflights of the Turkish F-16 over the islands of the Eastern Aegean etc.
She is right about some of the concerns expressed by Turkey.
Example: Greek EEZ, extension of territorial waters to 12 nautical miles in the Aegean Sea, demilitarization of the islands of the Eastern Aegean, non-recognition of the Turkish minority in Western Thrace, etc.
Each side has its rights, it is not possible for one side to always be right. Neither Turkey is only right nor Greece is only right, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Agreed. Unlike some erdogan worshipper weirdoes most people here know that turkish side is not 100 percent right. Flying over islands is wrong for example. But the answer would be “hey they armed the islands so we can fly over them”. But greeks can say we armed the islands because cyprus war later turks can say we had rights to invade cyprus. We were a guarantor and our people were under threat and this would go on an on. This type of behaviour does not help at all. The only outcome would be escalation. But also i dont think this situation is easy to solve let alone turkey and greece even the most peacefull countries would have hard time making compromises and have an agreement.
So i dont have much hope about dialogue.

That's what he says, i have a different opinion. In my opinion, Turkey made the best geopolitical move it could in World War II, managed to stay neutral and by the end of the war go to the side of the victors. This is called in Greek "adroit neutral". The US did exactly the same in the 1930s when General Motors & Ford built Nazi Germany's arsenal (tanks, weapons, etc.) while US banks lent huge sums of money to Germany to revive its industry from the disaster suffered in World War I. Britain and France did the same in 1938 with the Munich Agreement, which effectively gave Nazi Germany the right to annex Sudetenland. All these "Allies" then christened themselves the praisers of the Democrasy, as soon as they saw that the Red Army had almost crushed the 200 divisions of the Axis after the Battle of Kursk and had paid tribute to the blood of 27,000,000 people. Turkey did not do anything different from the other countries, it just waited for which side would win in order to get the geopolitical praise it deserved.

Why Cyprus is a ‘Russian bank with dirty money posing as an EU state’

“Londongrad” may have become the playground of Russia’s ultra-rich, but Cyprus has long played an integral role in helping oligarchs make moves to the West.
The island, dubbed “Moscow-on-the-Med”, became a major magnet for magnates – from Russia and beyond – thanks to the generous perks it offers for the wealthy.
Sunshine, beaches and halloumi may be the main attractions for visitors to Cyprus, but for Vladimir Putin’s allies it has long provided a different class of services: EU passports and a number of banks with a relaxed stance on money-laundering.
The country has tried to clean up its act following a series of scandals, but apparent reticence over sanctions against Moscow have put its role as a gateway to the West under the microscope again.
Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Cyprus offered attractive benefits to Russian nationals: low taxes, low scrutiny and – perhaps most importantly – somewhere to keep money out of the Kremlin’s sight.
Tellingly, Cyprus – one of the EU‘s smallests economies – frequently tops lists as the biggest source of foreign direct investment into Russia. Oligarchs like using the island as a base for operations as they direct their money back home. Russia, meanwhile, is typically its biggest investor.
As Jakub Janda, director of the Prague-based European Values Center for Security Policy put it last week: “Cyprus is a Russian bank with dirty money posing as an EU state.”
In return, Cyprus has made plenty of money from Russians. In 2014, Russia-related business income was equivalent to about 14pc of the country’s GDP. Of course, much of that is now tourism – the island caters to middle-class Russians seeking a spot of sun, as well as the billionaire clientele of its luxury retailers.
Facing increasing political pressure in the wake of the Crimea annexation, Cypriot authorities began to crack down on the island’s network of shell companies. That forced some Russians to wind down entities after being presented with anti-money laundering controls.
By early 2019, Cyprus’s foreign-held bank account valuation, mainly reflecting Russian wealth, had fallen to €7.1bn, according to its central bank. That was down from a peak of €21.5bn in 2012, when it was estimated a third of all bank deposits were of Russian origin.
Banking has not been the only draw, however. Cyprus’s “golden passports” were, until recently, one of the easiest ways for Russians to buy the power and credibility granted by citizenship of a bloc member.
The idea was simple: foreigners could obtain “citizenship by investment” if they pumped enough money into Cyprus.
Initially introduced in 2008, the scheme was loosened substantially by current president Nicos Anastasiades. Facing a financial crisis after coming to power in 2013, he cut the amount of investment needed for eligibility from €10m to €3m. The figure was subsequently lowered even further.

Anastasiades’ target was obvious. The policy was announced to a crowd of Russian business figures in the port city of Limassol (sometimes called “Limassolgrad"), where Cyrillic signs and Russian-named yachts are commonplace.
Russian investors and their families made up almost half of the thousands of passports awarded in the first five years of the loosened scheme. It even continued to draw huge amounts of interest after Russia’s move on Crimea in 2014.
An investigation by Reuters found relatives and allies on Hun Sen, Cambodia’s authoritarian prime minister, had been granted Cypriot citizenship. Then Politis, a domestic news organisation, revealed that Jho Low, a Malaysian businessman at the heart of the multi-billion-dollar 1MDB lotting and money-laundering scandal had also become a citizen.
The revelations prompted probes in Cyprus, and led EU politicians to issue calls for the golden passport scheme to be tackled. Authorities have subsequently stripped nationality from dozens of people after finding “mistakes” in the process.
The coup de grace was delivered by broadcaster Al Jazeera, which a year later revealed documents that showed how Russian elites – including several with state positions, and some of the country’s richest men – had bought their way into the benefits from EU citizenship through the Cypriot scheme.
An independent commission found Cypriot authorities had unlawfully issued passports to relatives of investors who ploughed money into the island, and that many of those granted passports had failed to meet the conditions.
The scheme was wound down in disgrace last year, after 13 years that generated political scandal, 6,779 new citizens, and about €8bn of direct cash for the island.
As Russia becomes a political and economic pariah, Cyprus will be keen to show that it has cleaned up its act. But as global regulators try to crack down on the flows of Russian wealth, Cyprus’s bankers may face some difficult questions.
