Daily Ta Nea stated that if the proposal is included in the final version of the defense budget, the issue of establishing new U.S. bases in Greece could be discussed in 2026 at the earliest, considering the proposal as a positive development for Athens.

The pro-opposition daily Efsyn reported that in diplomatic circles, it was considered almost impossible for Meng's proposal to be included in the final version of the NDAA."
Watch these proposal fall through like those conditions they tried to set on the sale of F-16's.

What are the implications of this admittal?

Greek Defense Minister targeted Turkiye during the launching ceremony of the frigate Kimon:

"Nothing under threat can be demilitarized"

Turkiye has long warned Greece for arming islands with non-military status

Minister has tacitly acknowledged they militarize the islands

The wikipedia page for Montreux convention has a section about its effects on militarization of islands which is unfortunate, but it is what it is.

according to treaty of lozan none of those island can be militarized not only that they cant populated other island (with exception of some of the island that was populated at the time ) and no construction can be made on those islands which means those islands will remain a barren rock but during 2003-2012 AKP-FETÖ-PKK alliance under the ahmet davutoglu's zero problem policy with neighbor AKP Islam government allowed Greek to build hotels and tourist destinations on island thus allowing them to both populate and make constructions. beside AKP islam government forced Turkish Cyprus to say yes to 2004 unification referendum by pure luck geerk side said no in the referendum.

Greece's angry letter to the UN over Libya's declaration of a border zone – “The illegal Turkish-Libyan memorandum follows

In a letter submitted to the UN on January 17, Greece describes its move as contrary to International Law and the Law of the Sea Libya to submit its own letter to the UN declaring a border zone, following the illegal Turkish-Libyan memorandum.

As ERT's diplomatic editor Nikos Meletis notes, with its letter, Greece states that the coordinates and the map contained in the Libyan letter are against International Law and the Law of the Sea for three reasons:
a) because it closes the Gulf of Sirte, a move Greece has opposed since 1974,
b) uses straight baselines – Greece has opposed this as well since 2005 – which are also against International Law, and
c) mainly, because the coordinates submitted by Libya follow the illegal demarcation of the Turkish-Libyan memorandum of 2019.

Greece takes this opportunity to reiterate that the Turkish-Libyan memorandum is illegal and contrary to International Law and that any moves made based on the coordinates it provides are illegal.

He also points out that such moves do not prejudge the rights provided by International Law for Greece and expresses the well-known Greek position that any problems with demarcations in the Eastern Mediterranean must be resolved peacefully on the basis of International Law and the Law of the Sea.

The article Greece's angry letter to the UN over Libya's declaration of a border zone – “The illegal Turkish-Libyan memorandum follows was published on NewsIT .

Seems TN is quite actively preventing activities in our EEZ in mediterranian sea.
the adm. Is saying they’ve prevented 35 vessels from conducting activities so far. I think these and future attempts are going to increase, maybe that is why TN need more OPV.

I really think that there is more chance that war breaks out because of thiss EEZ dispute than our operations in Syria or Iraq.

We should have negotiated with Syria and Lebanon for a EEZ long time ago. Maybe we can negotiate now with Egypt.

One big mess.

“Insolent Video from India

Imaginary animation of India... In the animation shared by India; Greece fires a BrahMos supersonic guided cruise missile at a Turkish Navy frigate cruising in the Mediterranean.

Prepared imaginary video; He claims that Turkey poses a threat in Greek waters with its Blue Homeland policy and that Greece will have a say in the region with the addition of the BrahMos missile to its inventory.”

It seems really funny that countries that cannot reach the Mediterranean on their own in real life threaten Türkiye with animations or consider selling missiles to Greece.

When Greece signed a defense agreement with France, it threatened by saying "we have partners with nuclear weapons". While even nuclear-armed countries avoid such open threats, the reason for Greece's threat was simply that it was looking for shelter.

We are experiencing the same thing again today. He is implicitly threatening us by signing a defense agreement with a country that has nuclear power.

It doesn't matter if Erdoğan leaves today or someone else comes tomorrow, BLUE HOMELAND will remain an unchangeable reality of Türkiye.

I admire the imagination of Indians, because they started making fighter jets in 1980 and put them into service in 2015, saying "we made one of the best planes". They buy most of their products from Russia by transferring technology or copying products. Additionally, the quality of Indian products is also open to debate.

I want to say that the doctrine of the blue homeland will not change, that India is trying to reach the Caucasus and the Eastern Mediterranean and will not succeed.

It is more believable for Indians to make animations and tweet "We sell weapons to the world, we are very powerful."
