Turkish students score well in PISA ratings, there is an increase of 60 points in the 22 years from 2003 to 2025. Job well done kids.

I've seen the kind of Uni entrance exams Turkish Lise students have to go through. Its hard - very hard. Sort of like someone decided to have a mini mini Gaokao.

The filter is just there and it's brutal. But the ones that make it into technical unis are really good imo.

Their English can still be pretty terrible though

The only caveat of these results is the 72% coverage as opposed to 93% of Germany

How about other nations, do you have a coverage list?

Gaokao is hated by many people in China, but most of people also agree that there is no better method at this time.

And what about where we place in the list? Because all that is being shared is how high we climbed, if we are still in the bottom half, for example, that is nothing to be proud about.
Bro, intrinsically any percentage increase statistics like that is faulty in it’s core, and generally is used to show how well you have done to people where it is not really so.

A quick calculation is:

Say Turkiye’s current performance is 20 units. 20% increase is 4 units.
Say World average is 50 units and if they have 10% increase they will have 5 units.
So in reality you will never catch up with the average and higher.

Also:
If growth is from 10% to 15%, the percentage increase is (15 - 10) \div 10 = 50% in percentage increase statistics.

To show real success you need percentage points statistics.
If growth is from 10% to 15% the real increase in percentage points statistics is 5%.

It's top 20% affected by the remaining 80%. They don't even try. I mean literally. They don't try. That statistics means nothing unless you're comparing it with China or Korea's uni exams because it's an outcome of the system.
