The following is analysis of the last two big attacks.
On November 25, November 26, the terrorist organization PKK attacked Seri Tepe (marked with 1) and Mount Parasiya (marked 2), where the TSK is stationed in the Claw-Lock area.
As a result of the attack on the Seri Tepe, 3 of our soldiers were martyred. In the clash 3 terrorists were killed at Seri Tepe and 1 terrorist who wanted to attack another point close to the point where our soldiers were martyred were neutralized.
As a result of the attack on Parasiya Mountain, 3 of our soldiers were martyred. 3 terrorists were neutralized as a result of advancing further in our positions, instead of retreating quickly (as they always do). They continued the harassment fire for several hours after the clash.
Right after the Parasiya attack, Hulusi Akar left the President Erdogan's program and went to Ankara to the HQ of the Land Forces Command. The tension and anger on Akar's face are very clear.
In Hulusi Akar's statement one day after the incident, the emphasis was on civilians twice. “We take every precaution to prevent harm to civilians and innocent people, and we show sensitivity that no army has ever shown. "
Another detail in the same statement is Akar's message to those in Iraq. In addition, he wrote Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood literature. "The end of terrorists will not only benefit us but also neighboring and brotherly countries. This needs to be understood. Not only we, but also neighboring countries will be saved."
After these two attacks for two days in a row and the Parasiya attack in which a couple of large terrorist groups took participation was Akar actually angry at the local force and the people? Let's see what we got.
The body of one of the terrorists, who was neutralized while attacking Seri on 25 November, was found during Search/Destroy activities. The terrorist is completely civilian...
Diyar Solmaz, code-named Amed Avesta, who was neutralized in the Parasiya attack on November 26. The commander of the terrorist team that carried out the attack. He is in civilian clothing too. Do not forget this him as we will mention him again in the future.
Now let's put these two attacks aside and talk about Gara. Gara is now the PKK's most important camp site. Mountainous, forested place, without civilians living there. Ideal for the PKK. It is this camp site that feeds the terrorists in Zap.
But there is a problem for the PKK. There is no direct connection between Gara and Zap. There are districts, towns and villages with very high populations. These areas are under Peshmerga control.
Let's go back to the first day of the operation months ago. When the PKK terrorists were alerted by the start of the operation, they hid on a hill with night vision devices and opened fire on the TSK helicopters passing by.
As seen in the video, the terrorists in the Gara line descend from the hill and come near the villages and open fire on the helicopters that are conduction an air assault operation to land on Linik Mountain.
Here is the important detail. Since the terrorists knew that the TSK would evade possible fire and pass from Tepe Bahar, they came to the villages on the Gara line and set up an ambush.
So the terrorists can come this far whenever they want. As they opened fire from the bottom of the village, they also have trade with these villagers and some Peshmergas.
It is assumed that TSK had information that a group of terrorists went from Gara to Tepe Bahar before the Parasiya attack. Because on November 24, several airstrikes were carried out to the south of Tepe Bahar. Most likely, the incoming group was targeted.
It is unlikely that more than 10 terrorists will walk ~ 10km from Gara to Tepe Bahar or other PKK camp sites in Metina, and this will not be seen by the Peshmerga and the villagers.
Here, the Peshmerga and the villagers have no obligation to Turkiye, but the PKK uses the TSK sensitivity to civilians by using civilian and Peshmerga areas. Here, the crime of the local people and forces is to allow the PKK to use this sensitivity.
Again, according to allegations from some TSK personnel, local people and Peshmerga helped the PKK in return for money and other things before and during the attack.
Long story short. The only possibility of the PKK's presence in Zap is to send regular support from Gara to Zap. As the locals continue to shield the PKK, naturally there will be a relaxation in the civilian targeting sensitivity of the TSK.
It is for sure that Gara is much more important now, that they will continue to send support from Gara to Zap and that this is unlikely without cooperation. Let's see what action the TSK will try to take now.
